Forums - Nintendo Discussion - which nintendo game should be made into a movie

Metroid or Professor Layton (I know it's not Nintendo, but the animation sequences in that game were pretty much movie quality).

I don't think Zelda would be a good choice.

Firstly, which one do you go with?

Secondly, no matter which Zelda game you make into a movie, it'll be hated, you can't compress a 30+ hour per game franchise like Zelda into a movie of roughly 2-3 hours. That's one of the reasons why video games and comic adaptions only work if they either ignore certain plot points from the original OR they focus strictly on one particular plot line (origin story or whatever).

Third, it'd be viewed as a weaker narrative LOTR.

Fourth, These characters have not had proper voices in over 20 years, giving them now, to the 3 main characters in the story, would actually hurt the game franchise. Metroid isn't so bad because recently, everyone else in the universe got a voice and it would only have 1 character without one (Samus).

None of them. Video game movies suck, and they can hardly do otherwise: good video game plots don't translate well to film, and vice versa.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Fire Emblem. It could be like Lord of the Rings, or Pathfinder.

Kirby if Pixar was making it.

I would like to see a Legend of Zelda film.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

I would like to see Zelda. I think that if they were able to get Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson to produce the movie together and make it a Trilogy then it would be well worth it.
