Forums - Gaming Discussion - So TOV Jumped Ship to PS3.....is it safe to assume a PS3 SO4 Port is NEXT?!

Star Ocean 4 will be released for the PS3 eventually. The only way it wouldn't be is if Square-Enix thought they'd lose money on the port. If the engine proves too difficult to port to the PS3, I suppose that's possible - but extremely unlikely. Expect to hear an announcement in six to nine months, which will be when that clause of their contract expires.

Or maybe next fiscal year, although SO did still come out in the previous one.

By the way, according to Wikipedia the PS2 version of Tales of Symphonia was announced at April 2004.

Maybe Nintendo did pay for the timed exclusivity of ToS in Japan?

Star Ocean 4 has very bad feedback everywhere and is (supposedly) crappy, so I wouldn't really look forward to it. Vesperia is supposed to be awesome, so that's good news.

Namco =/= SE so one has nothing to do with the other. Based on sales I say SO4 will come to PS3 though.

Really

I heard its the best 360 JRPG from some people

Its plot is what makes me want it most!

I'm inclined to trust the haters in this case...

Why do developers insist on using such RIDICULOUSLY INFANTILE AND ATTROCIOUSLY HIGH PITCHED english voices for female characters in japanese RPGs? Not even children would stand shit like that and I sure as hell CAN'T PUT UP WITH IT!

Voices like that just make me not want to buy the game, period. Even if everything else is good.

OMG, Sarah's voice made me ill. i seriously hope they give us a JP option like Valkyria if this one makes it to ps3. Selvaria's voice was actually deep not high pitched and infantile lol.

I guess none of you played Eternal Sonata? I closed my eyes on that scene and it sounded just like something out of ES. Well for the most part...the dialog is a bit better in ES. Which reminds me I need to get around to finishing that.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I see some of you guys will complain about just anything.

Good voice acting a JRPG?
Haha, don't make me laugh. It's never going to happen.

Sci-fi > Medieval! ^_^

That's why every single JRPG should have Japanese voices.

Actually, there are a couple of good english VAs (Persona 3 and 4 come to mind, Disgaea too). Buit to not have Japanese VA option is most of times a very bad choice

omfg that star ocean scene is even worse then ffx(which i couldnt complete, due to poor voice acting). Japanese voices are usually so much better, but the voice acting in ff12 was pretty good though.

@ zexen-lowe

Tales of Vesperia has great voice acting as well. Check it out

Too bad the sound of the dialog wasn't totally clear and they spoke in ways that I (and I'm sure others) don't usually listen to which makes trying to follow the story difficult.

That doesn't seem to me like great voiced acting. Granted, it's not bad, but I'm sure the JP voices are better
