Forums - Gaming Discussion - Should the United States ban a Japanese "rape simulat

If it wasn't for the media, I would of never known the existence of this game. I downloaded it a few weeks ago; I was curious how a rape simulator would work out and made a good article for the site I'm working with. It's a waste of time. Don't bother.

So killing is better than raping ?

No, it isn't.

Think of this though. Any game that includes "killing" isn't trying to be a simulation. If this is an actual "rape simulator", then this would be much worse than GTA, Manhunt or anything else that has been released on this side of the Pacific.

Just kiss the tip.

While I don't like over the top violence in games, and avoid such games, THIS is so far over the line... its sick.

There is a difference between violence in games, and a rape simulator... Violence can at least be somewhat justified at certain times due to the nature of the games (combat in warfare for example). But ... I don't know where to start. Let me say this about what I think the penalty for rape should be.

First castrate the bastard.
Second throw him in a low security prison so he can meet his new best friend bubba.
Third hang him in a public execution.

I don't see a problem with this game. There are hundreds of games where you kill people and i'm having hard time in seeing how this would be any worse.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

lol not that I approve of this game [in fact it makes me sick (not literally sick, but figuratively)] but how is it any worse then any killing game?

I don't mean war games but games like GTA where you kill innocent people.

I'd rather have rapists get their kicks through rape simulators than real life rape.

Slap an AO rating on this shit and let the weirdos stay home and play it.

I don't like it, but I'm with Rubang that if there's an audience for this, maybe it's better they simulate than go out and be rapists, but I don't think this is something they should allow in most retail avenues. I would feel the same about a game that was a serial killer simulation also, so it's not merely because it's rape, but because it's being presented far too much like Personal Trainer: Cooking for rapists from the description I'm reading.I don't think it's a good idea to create training games for illegal acts, and you can insert drug dealing, murder, rape, theft or anything else is here. If there is evidence to point that this can curb some real life crime than I'm more open to it.

I'm a bit more disturbed at that Rape Club doc I just saw that was linked in this thread.

Good grief. Some people are just weird. :s

It's easier for western sensibilities to be mortified by this, but i would contend that yeah, its no worse than something like Manhunt

Its equally easy to understand the sort of fascination that this would hold, since there's quite the market for this sort of thing floating about out there, especially on the other end of the pacific. I do find it more repugnant, despite the fact that i play MadWorld with some twisted joy of sticking a road sign through a man, then slicing him in half, and this game is pretty much as stylized as that one is (except for color)

Sin is sin, and we all have our own guilty pleasures

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm against banning it since banning things often (sadly) makes them more popular.
