That's very true. Do you perhaps know anyone with a DSlite who is going to buy a DSi.........perhaps you can get it from them? Or maybe look at purchasing it locally, so you could see the DS in person. How much lower are the ebay DS's?

They have several DSs that start from $80.00 to $60.00. They have a few that say they are in mint condition for less than $30.00.

The $30.00 ones set off alarm bells to me, but the $60.00 to $80.00 ones seem to be at a decent price (depending on what shipping is). I think my local video game store sells them for $90, so you save enough for a DS game basically, which is good (again, depending on shipping costs).

Maybe wait for the DSi to hit the market. The Ds lite will be cheaper and you can buy it new then. (If you're looking for GBA compatibility or something)

Back in September, I bought an original DS model off someone on Craigslist for $50, with Brain Age, Mario Kart DS, and a Sudoku game included (Craigslist and Ebay can be considered similar imo, except one is done mainly in person while the other is online).  But point being, it wasn't perfect, but it was in good condition.  So it depends.  Used can be ok, you just need to read the seller's feedback and see if they are trusted and thoroughly read the item's description. 

see what you can find on craigslist. at least that way you can test it before you buy it.

I wouldn't buy a DS Lite anywhere, so no.
