I'm looking for a game to play that wouldn't require a graphics card.  A simple puzzle game like World of Goo for example :)

Without a gfx card? I suppose there are some old school text adventure games you could get printed out to a spool dot-matrix printer

On a serious note, while I don't know what type of gear you actually have, unless you are after a "newer" game, may I suggests looking into all the awesome games released 5+ years ago. Even the crappiest of onboard gfx cards can still play most games from earlier this decade without any hitches.

Yeah I shouldn't have said "without a graphics card".  I meant a game that wouldn't require for me to have a expensive one.  I have a tablet PC, so World of Goo is actually really fun because I can just use my pen to connect the goos.

Puzzle Quest (Challenge of the Warlords and/or Galactrix).
They are not like World of Goo, but they are addictive Bejeweled-like Puzzle games with strong RPG elements (I have played Warlords on DS and loved it; I'll buy Galactrix as well). Both PQs are downloadable for PC.

And then there's Braid of course (I haven't played it yet, but I don't think I have to tell you how much praise this platformer got). http://braid-game.com/ http://www.impulsedriven.com/braid

I would recommend to you Good Old Games! They sell plenty of games that should run fine on your computer, for very cheap, and there are many exquisite games on there. Try the original Fallout. You won't regret it!

  • Doom and Doom II. Old classics never die. Personally I've always preffered Wolfenstein 3D and its sequel, Spear of Destiny, but you might want to check the shareware version first.
  • Battle for Wesnoth is a free 2D strategy game. You should try it.
  • Recently Iji has caught my eye. It's a combination of a platformer and a shooter. Sort of. It's also free.
  • Baldur's Gate is something that is probably good once you get into it. The sequel isn't too bad either, I suppose. Both are fine.
  • Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom. Master of Olympys: Zeus. City-builders.
  • Diablo II doesn't need to be introduced.

Oh wait, a graphics card is fine as long as it's not too powerful?

  • Quake Live just recently entered an open beta. It's a free browser-based game.
  • Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is free, too.

Deus Ex, Unreal Tournament, Thief II, Grim Fandango

Thanks guys. I just found out that Crayon Physics Deluxe is out. Just downloaded that :)
