Forums - Gaming Discussion - Its so sad when games like these sell.

Best game idea ever, Fat Hannah Montana Barstard child Wedding Partyz

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Now I can't vouch for the soul or care that Ubisoft puts into their 'Imagine' titles but I expect many little girls would think most FPS, TPS and action games have no 'soul' - just mindless violence.

I'm glad somebody else agrees with my assessment about the target audience defining the "soul" of a game...

Sky Render - Sanity is for the weak.

It's so sad to see this kind of mentality =(

I am part of the core male democrafic, but I think most FPS, TPS and action games are soulless.  Most of these games have turned into glorified slaughter fests with the occasional boobs thrown in for good measure.

I would be willing to bet that many of the Imagine games are the best of their genre, which is why they have such good sales.

I think what's sad about it is the fact that while i have not played those games, the amount of time and effort put into them is not nearly as much as a game such as Valkyria chronicles. Not the fact that there are games a different audience plays.

Never played the game, but there is a REALLY high chance there quality is poor and the target audience gets fed with so much of the stuff they don't know otherwise. Take Hannah Montana for example slap her name on it and poor quality or not, it's probably going to sell if it's a product that can be seen viable. Hannah Montana cup? It may have lead up the yin-yang, but by god it's a cup with Hannah Montana on it and my child loves her. Same thing with the game. We can even say the same things with games targeted to men. we already know a vast majority of Movie/Game spin offs usually suck some ass with few exceptions.

Now while I have no interest in the games and refuse to play them to create a 800 - 1000 essay that we already know is going to be littered with my bias garbage being a waist of my time and yours. Now why don't we get someone who it's actually targeted towards and have them play some of those games, compared to other games their targeted to. Better yet a gamer who would actually enjoy hannah montana games. Chances are it's still crap.

I agree that it's sad to see them sell so much, but I have a different reason why it's sad to see it sell then the op.

okay, tell you what.  i'm actually a fan of hannah montana.  yeah, i know her show isn't high art but i still watch it anyways because it is entertaining and what else is there to do before power rangers start.  i'll go buy on of her games tonight and post a review for it in a week or so once i'm at least far enough into the game to make judgements.

Before liking Hannah Montana I'll wait for her to realize, like another well-known Disney-girl, the inutility of knickers

to me it's sadder that games like COD and Halo sell millions, despite their mediocrity

Wow... you actually went out and spent your own money on Hanna Montana games just to prove a point?  Either you have money to burn or are really a Hannah Montana fan.  Either way, way to go for taking one for the 'team' and seeing if girl games have a soul all thier own.

Wish I'd thought of this as a way to justify buying We Cheer....
