Forums - Gaming Discussion - Question on first playthrough difficulty

@TheCompletist

Like what lazy play style?//and for me the gameplay on easy mode is not childish its more like for me getting use to the gameplay//for me I hate games that get difficult real quick//I prefer a smooth experience//and having the game on easy or normal mode is ideal and perfect for me.

I do understand you and nordlead//it can ruin the experience significantly but playing a game overly hard and you know nothing about for example it can really put a toll on you and you can really just quit playing.

I play video games/I like video games//just the fact of matter is that maybe you need to have a certain play skill//I very rare play games every day. I pick a game up if I'm bored//but if you play everyday and know what to expect from a game then that probably is understandable on the difficulty part.

Around the Network

Regarding "lazy play style", I guess I'm thinking mainly of games like Street Fighter or God of War, where you can beat easy modes by repeating moves over and over, and never using any defensive strategy. Then if you up the difficulty, you basically have to unlearn your technique and begin again, which can be just as frustrating.

The key difference between you and me is you don't seem to mind multiple repeated playthroughs. While I do repeatedly play some games (7 times so far for Resistance:FOM) I think the first time is special and exciting, and I'd rather it was a memorable challenge.

I don't mind playing a game multiple times//ONLY if I like it//as been proven by Gears of War, Halo 3, and Uncharted. Normal mode is where its at//I don't like playing on a challeging difficulty for example I might love the story so much and the gameplay//but I come up to a part and I'm like "f*ck". Why can't I get past this?//well that right there ruined it cause I can try and try countless times and I will give up on the game altogether and wow I just missed out on a good story//also I like what your saying you want to have a since of accomplishment// I like that but playing on Hardcore Mode is defined as for people who prefer a higher difficulty and is targeted to them.

Where as me//I want normal or easy//after beating it for the first time without fustration//I move up a difficult mode and from there I can be like well this is what happened before but the A.I. is smarter and such.

I don't know how I'm still talking about this//but like I said I don't like my games to easy and I don't like them to hard on my first playthrough. I like to play the game smooth without to much difficulty going on.
