First and foremost, the thread is only about the Danish sales of consoles. How is this somehow not a suitable thread? Unless someone can prove the figures are false.

Beyond that why can't a screen name like Killzone3 be trusted? I'm lost, but don't most people here either have console game related avtars, screen names or signatures?

okay i admit i didn't even read the article, but it just seemed to me as the tenthousand'th Hus post about how great the ps3 is and blabla and that's why i posted the 5 paragraph thing which i found somewhere..

 well im here to tell the true facts, thats all. 

It is a pretty small blip. The only hard #s I could find is an announcement that the PS2 had sold 1 million units by late 2003 just before the holiday season in the Nordic countries which contain Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. Which would suggest that just over 83k consoles are sold in each country a year which makes about 1600 sold a week. Oh yeah, and there were 60 million PS2s out at that point so the four countries combine made up about 1.7% of PS2s.

But considering we have a Sony exec saying the PS2 it currently ouselling the Wii month to month in all major markets, I'm hardly going to start belieing the company that is the distributor for Sony without any actual numbers.

It was a while since I read the article, just went back and read it again...

And my first thought was right... the sales figures are only from one store (Merlin) chain. And it is not even a game store, but a generel HiFi/elektronic store.

The only Merlin store (Fisketorvet) i go to, once in a while, has a nice PS3 display and a lot of PS3 banners.. The 360 is standing behind that one, not visible from the main walkway, and it is eighter not working or displaying a old game like King Kong. As far as I remember the don't even have a Wii display, but they do sell games for it..

In Games and EB Games the Xbox 360 normaly take up more or the same space as the PS3.

I can't read danish but if it's true it IS news. On a global scale it is gonna be an insignificantly small number but it is still news. It's tough to get data from European countries so we should use as much data as possible.

ON topic: Its only one area, it would count severly if it was outselling the wii in europe. But its not. Just in one small area.
