WTF. "Sony has historically priced at its production cost (or above)". Wasn't it still in the last interview he commented the pricing, that historically Sony has sold consoles at loss.
Nothing wrong in correcting predictions, since that's what analysts should do when the predictions seem to be going wrong, but "correcting" the "facts" behind them is another story.

The guy isn't even funny anymore.

Pachter's observations and predictions really make him overqualified for Wedbush Morgan. I think he'd be more at home as a contributor to Forbes, which has made a cottage industry out of the employment of tech-stock analysts that don't have a clue about their subject matter.

I'm one who subscribes to the thinking that investors should invest in what they know, or at the very least seek their investment advice from somebody that is savvy to the industry. A middle-aged guy that bears a slight resemblance to Eugene Levy, espousing his opinions about the gaming industry and the buying trends of 15-34 year olds doesn't exactly instill a lot of confidence in me.

Tomorrow, Pachter will probably make his 18th "the Wii is just a fad" declaration. He was banging that drum for faaaar too long.

the great thing is that people at yahoo and other casual news sites will use Patcher as a credible source.

Naw, their Install base can't be ignored, 20 million is the sweet number for the PS3 before it get's discontinued; at that point I believe that many gems. =P
