Forums - Nintendo Discussion - ..what? Sonic Adventure 2: Battle was bad?

I just love it too, best sonic game in my opinion.

Knuckles and rouge the bat levels blew chunks but otherwise it was very solid on the dreamcast in July of 2001. A year and a half later on the gamecube it was just as solid...but nothing new so reviews may reflect that.

There's sort of been a retroactive hate compaign against the Adventure games. It started around the release of DX on GC but didn't really catch on until around the time between Shadow and the release of 06.

It goes without saying that SA2 is beneath the level of the classic games but it's no where near "bad."

The camera was the only complaint I could really give.

The camera really isn't a problem at all. I've played well over a hundred hours on SA2 and I reckon I could count on one hand the number of times the camera caused me issues.

Yeah, I have Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and I think it's a downright amazing game. I can't for the life of me understand some people's hate for it.

I love Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 was fun, though the Knuckles/Rouge stages I hated.

SA2 on cube IMO is better than the DC game if you liked the Chaos karate{I love it)

SA DX while technically a better game also I still enjoy it more on Dreamcast

Sonic to me didn't start sucking until Heroes came out.

I only really enjoyed Sonic's and Shadow's stages. Eggman's stages were okay...Tails' were really boring. And don't get me started on the emerald hunting stages.

Overall, SA2B is a fun game but I don't considering it one of the best Sonic games.

The Chao Garden is a really nice addition to the game. A lot of replay value :>

Also, classic Sonic is boring?! What?! Oh well, it's your opinion. (As long as you don't claim Sonic 06 being a good game, I won't hurt you. :P)

I always have mixed feelings about the Adventure games (and Heroes). I remember getting SA2 for Dreamcast and loving the game. On the Dreamcast I don't remember the game being reviewed particularly badly. It was only after SA2: Battle was released on GameCube when all the negative reviews flooded in. I never understood it then and still don't now.

But that's not to say it's my favorite, I still prefer Sonic Advance 1/2/3/Rush and the classic titles, but SA2 (and SA1/Heroes for that matter) weren't bad games. You only need to play Sonic the Hedgehog (PS3/XB360) to see what a bad game really is.

never played SA2, but you wouldn't go too far just pressing right + A in the older ones..
