I am going to say 70 million LTD and that includes sales when the next gen consoles release (duh LTD duh). Whenever I see a reason the PS3 selling badly, it being discontinued (LOL), the 360 selling better then it and will keep doing so is.................PRICE! (Wii does not sell because it is cheap it sells because it is awesome)

One time or another the PS3 will be £200, £150 etc and that is when I assume sales will pick up immensly, people say "LOL PS3 still screwed because the 360 will be even cheap" but the price will be mainstream, people will not mind paying £200 for the console (unless poverty stricken). I also see the PS3 being compared to GC which managed 30 million , pretty crazy a comparison when the PS3 is 4x the price the GC was. So 70 million LTD, even if the next 50 million come with a McDonalds kids meal that is the number I expect it to reach......AT WORST.

PS for me LTD = life to death, seen other people do it so why not >_>

It really depends on the uptake it gets next year with the price drop... I expect that it'll be around the same time Microsoft did their price drop and I expect around 75 to 85 percent numbers compared to the 360's at the same time. A drop in price will only occur if they have a drop in production cost. The people at Sony have already stated that they are running a business and they need to get the Playstation side of the house profitable again.

Lifetime sales I see more in the 50 million region, somewhere between 45 and 55 million is likely.

The price cut CAN change everything, Im skepticle, but if things continue the way they are, which is selling ~10million consoles, and the gen ends in 2012 or 2011.

what are you talking about you wanna tell the ps3 is going to sell 0.68 million in 6-7 years.I predict 80 million+.

 Actually, some people use LTD as life-till-death. This is wrong though, but it is what the OP means (you probably understood that :P)

I agree with the 45-55M range.

Reasoning (I'll be short... Well, for me at least)

2009 will be ala 2008. ~ 10M. Total = 28-32M

2010 will be slightly smaller. ~ 8M.  Total = 36-40M.

2011 will be even smaller. ~ 6M. Total = 40-45M

2012 and out = 5-10M (depending on when a new console launches). Total = 45-55M.

Why are you skeptical? Only ever reason I have heard for someone not buying a PS3 is that it is too expensive, used to be it did not have good enough games but wow how fast things change.
