I don't even think that you can question anymore that the Nintendo Wii will hit 11 million first. Time to look up that old thread that The Source set up asking people about that, and the Eat Crow thread. or At least get them favorited for when it does become official.

Yo its official Nintendo is about to take over this generation...and I bet the Japanese Wii sales will boost it closer to the Xbox 360 worldwide...About another week Wii will de-throne the xbox 360 worldwide....

This console will not be stopped. I still think it is a fad though... A really "awesome, long lasting, better than all thee other fads" fad. But a fad none the less. Come on Wii. I love my WII!

Well I'm really impressed by the Wii sales, I didn't expect it to take off like this when I first heard of it, but who did? :)
It's been really interesting to watch the sales over the last 10 months, and it's thanks to ioi and other contributors to this site that have allowed us to see the numbers rise in such a clear and simple way, always keeping us up to date.
At this milestone I would like to say thanks :)
I expect the next 10 million to be even more interesting..
Can the wii handle the Halo boost? Will Mario G bomb? Will Metroid lead the way for FPS'? Will aliens steal all the Wii's from mankind?

but, that's the EXACT opposite of a fad, well i'm just gonna say PS2 was a fad even though it sold over 120 million units and is the best selling system of all time even though it had great numbers continually and the wii is surpassing it
