Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How many 360/Wii owners would sell their Wii if Newton was released?

sorry i cant just own one system and be happy. i still play my Super nes and Dreamcast so i don't need to ask anyone for what systems i should buy. I own as many as i see fit to fill whatever gamming void that needs filling.

Well, I can only once again say that I think you're in minority here. Most people that buy the Wii do not only see the controller. They see something that is 'fun'. To the people that actually buy the Wii, it's usually more about this than the controller. Of course, I don't know this to 100%, but this is one the points we have been arguing about here. This is how I think the regular person sees it.

I can definatly see how anyone with your view would drop the Wii like a bad habit at newton release, but I also think that most of you have never actually bought the Wii. But now I'm wandering out on really shaky ground, as I have no foundation at all for this.

So who is that regular person? I haven't read everything on this thread, but the title suggest that this is about wii/360 owners. I think I might actually be the regular person in that category. Or at least not an oddity. :p However if you were discussing just the "casual"* market, then I agree with you about that fun-part. :)

* I don't know a better word for that so... sorry if it offends someone. :P

Would it be so different if I would have bought one instead of considering? Well whatever.

If there was a wiimote-copy for 360, there would be no reason to own a wii.

Unless you wanted to play Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii, Wii Sports, or Wii Fit, all of which have outsold every game on the 360 and are not available on the 360 and will never be available on the 360.

I don't, but thanks for sharing your thoughts.

First. You don't own a Wii. So if we were only talking about Wii60 owners, you'd be disqualified.

Second, you didn't buy a Wii because you feel like you do. So anyone feeling like you would most likely not buy one either.

Third. Last gen, around 3% of console owners owned multiple consoles. That's not that many. So I think the Wii60 owners most likely constitutes a too small group to be of any real consequense.

Fourth. The regular person doesn't exist. He/she/it/they are a construct used to discuss some very fuzzy groups of people.

Fith. I'm glad you agree with my point :)

I don't know, there must be at least some multiconsole owners who wanted to try wiimote out. That goes for your third point too, last gen all the consoles were pretty much the same. Now that is not the case anymore. Anyway, this thread was about 360/wii owners. 100% of them are multiconsole owners. ;)

If you had added 'for me' somewhere in your original post, it would have been fine. But that was actually a categorical denial that nothing released on Wii is not fun to play for anyone. There's a huge difference.

Come on now guys... Everyone can have a say here as long as it contributes to a logical debate. Yes, this is for Wii60 owners but in essence that is a large chunk of the modern generation and others might have some input.
