I'm not gonna sell my Wii, the new Tales will make sure of that. I also love Zelda games. My 360 would be the only console I'd sell right now(besides maybe my PSP)

But your right about Tales; I still am(well, was) trying to earn enough Grade in Vesperia for a second go through. I'll wait, for now. I've been tipping toward a PS3 for a while now.

@stickball-Its like the 360s were built this way. To die right the hell in the middle of the holiday season.

360's die from too much use, causing excess heat to separate the GPU from the mobo. The reason it may clump around the holidays is the over-use of the device, causing higher than normal amounts of heat via gameplay. That's why it *looks* like it's worse around these times of year.

In my previous RRoD case, it was in March - a non-peak time, but I was running the X360 into the ground since a friend was living at my house, and we played tons of multiplayer.

I trash my X360s. I pack it up very often (and rather haphazardly) into a small box, about 1 time a week (every week) to take to my finacee's, or a church event. What's more shocking is that my power brick hasn't crapped out yet - There are tons of exposed wires protruding from the rubber-end of the device (where the light is).

That don't sound too healthy either...

Man that sucks though. Hopefully the one you get back will have better luck

@OP which model 360 do you have?

I didn't want to post a new thread for my own woes so.....

My X360 managed to RRoD just a few minutes ago. It suddenly started freezing and acting very suspicious earlier today - as it froze during Rock Band 2. I tried to re-start the X360 3-4 times, but it froze within a few seconds of playing, most of the time. Each time it froze, it made almost a MIDI-esque beep reminiscent of a PC.

I came home after spending time with my fiancee, only to find out that upon restart, it RRoDed on me.

1 year, 6 months, and 4 weeks since my launch X360 RRoDed.

The worst part? Tomb Raider: Underworld launches tomorrow, and I have a copy pre-paid. My girlfriend is gonna kill me.

My experience exactly - except I didn't spend time with your fiancee.

I had just completed Fable II when it unexpectedly froze. Got my first RROD the next day, although it continued to work for the most part for another day or two before completely dying.

Sucks, I keep waiting for my launch 360 to die yet somehow it manages to live on.

Well, mine died (and is still dead) whenever I was halfway through Tales of Vesperia.

Sorry to hear that bro. Just send it in for a replacement, or just go and buy a new Arcade 360. And just throw that old one in the trash or something.

The new Arcade 360's or for the matter all 360's now in stores and more reliable than the past ones. So I take that your 360 is old and had the Zephyr motherboard? Correct, so get the updated motherboard which is Falcon or Jasper, both new motherboards are cooler meaning reliable than the old launch ones.

Sorry to hear it. Yeah that sucks. My co-workers malfunctioned (HalfRROD) not long after he got Fallout 3 and Fable II. Poor guy. It seems those things have been rather prevelent lately.

If what happened to you happens to me. I could see trading the damn thing in and turning my back on the platform. That just sucks.

My launch system's DVD drive died after spinning Fable 2 for 3 days straight. No RROD.

Luckily I have another 360, an Elite. This one got the 3 red lights after I got Gears 2. Never really used it at all. I fell asleep one night playing Gears 2. Woke up and my 360 showed the 3 red lots. I turned it off and turned it back on again. It hasn't done it since. It seems that there was a power surge that reset my computer and I guess it affected the 360 also.

The Xbox 360s with lot numbers 839zzX+ are revision 3 Falcons and they come with quieter drives, solid state capacitors and they've removed the ram from the bottom of the motherboard. They are good replacements for those who are interested.

(I've been following Jasper, but still not reports unfortunately)

Edit: Probably best to look for an 840zzX system. They should become easier to find in the coming weeks as the stores burn through their stock of consoles.

You are telling him to buy another one? But he already bought one and he shouldnt have to purchase another one.

Not really sure how that's ironic
