Finally the Wii gets the definitive version of something. Props to the developer for not taking the usual "port the PS2 version, add a few motion controls, profit" method.

COD: WAW says hi

If memory serves, the 360 and PS3 versions got a 9.2 while the Wii version but a 8.0.

Yup. But that's half the result of Bozon being an idiot, and half the result of the Wii version not containing a lot of the modes in the PS360 versions. When a Wii FPS contains less features than Halo 2 on the Xbox, it's a lazy effort.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

^well it took me a couple of hours, but I love the controls now. Perhaps it is because I never played an SSX game before it (and only Snowboard Kids for the N64 was my previous boarding game)

The Uber-tricks are tough though, they take a lot of getting used to, but then they are not needed for the bulk of the game.

I just saw a video of this game on IGN, the very site who's review you're looking at, and I thought the game looked meh at best. The physics looks horrible, and the visuals even worse. I'd take SSX Blur over this any day. Speaking of snowboarding, I can't wait to go this winter.

Wow you don't know how surprised I am haha.

Alright so whether or not this game is actually any good, I think it's funny that nowadays, people always talk about how unreliable video game reviews are. Now, a game we all thought would be horrible gets a great review, and everyone automatically believes the review. Wooo.. :P

Pretty good considering its the 1st non Nintendo title to use the BB. I guess with time programmers will get better experienced at ensuring accuracy with the boards movement, but untill then we'll see how they go with Skate

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

not bad at all... i was actually considering buying this game cause i miss SSX

I *loved* SSX Tricky, it's one of my favorite games of all time, but man those games just kept going downhill.  They tried to make them have more of an open world feel and tried to place them in a more realistic setting and that just lost a lot of the fun for me.

The just starting at the top of the mountain was fun but having to ski to get to where I want to go was a pain in the ass.  I just want to go to whatever race and go.  I don't want to have to start somewhere and then ski somewhere else (and pray I don't miss the entrance) to play the level.

;_;

umm you dont ski on a snowboard. duh. ;)

hells yeah tricky was the BOMB. It's Tricky, Tricky Tricky Tricky!!!

@ op -will check this one out. I have a balance board. worth a rent to see if its worth buying

I would have bought this game if I had a balance board ....... and it had online (the review doesn't even mention it) ....... and if I had money.

# of games above 75 on Metacritic (including downloadable):

360: 241     DS: 144

PS3: 152     PSP: 126

Wii: 85
