Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Happy Anniversary, Super Mario Galaxy!

Tough question, but my vote goes for Melty Molten Galaxy.

I also liked Good Egg, Gusty Gardens, Loopdeloop, Sweet Sweet, Space Junk, Toy Time, Center of the Universe.

Toy Time Galaxy FTW! A shame that Luigi's Purple coins is so easy, it had awesome potential.

I just finished it again ~ 2 weeks ago.

It's darn close to being the best game of all time, but it still finishes a few tiny inches away from OoT. It's several meters ahead of any other game though.

This is the first Mario Platformer that has been in the top 10 games on the console for me.

Bowser levels were the best, especially the 1st one that uses gravity arrows to propel you onto walls and ceilings. All those levels are such a surprise

Favorite Galaxy - Gusty Garden, coz its crazy

Runner ups - Melty Molten, Freeze Flame, Battle Rock

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Melty Molten and Honeyclimb Galaxies are my favorites.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I noticed while playing this game surrealism is valid, even significant in SMG and should be used in other videogames. Whether its gravity, perspective or the levels environment SMG really took me somewhere that films and even Dali wouldn't go.

I just hope, although its pretty obvious, that Miyamoto will never settle for predictable environments, characters or physics in games from now on.

If art critics had a say SMG would be praised for its allusions to some of the great surrealist artists. Its almost wasted on a kids game, the complexity of the level is superficially labelled as only fun, its more than that.

I got Galaxy at launch and forgot how amazing it was so I am replaying it to get all 242 stars! ^_^

It took my almost a year to notice that you can skate backwards if you press Z! XD

Favorite: Good Egg
