I don't think any rational person is expecting it to be big. It will sell well because it's a great game, but nothing amazing.

I was never expecting it to be big but it has a great score on metacritic at like 95 or something so you would think it would do decent at this pasce it looks like it will sell like Haze or Too Human or something.

Keep in mind, the game was released in Europe last week. It just got released in the US (and I'd imagine some other places in the world) this week. I don't see it topping a million overall but I do see a lot of PS3 fans ecstatic that they can play Bioshock finally.

You mean a minority of PS3 fans.

Exactly.

I'd like to see your rationale for this. Bioshock is one of the most praised console shooters. If there is a large enough base for shooters on the PS3, which Resistance 1 showed a decent amount for this game should have sold well enough for itself.

It took several months for Resistance to reach 3 million+.  I bet Bioshock will have decent legs with an appropriate price cut.

Pixel Art can be fun.

I just dont get why it shouldt be the same price as other games its not like its any less then them in fact look at this score on metacritic its an amazing game it should not be half price just becuase it got ported to the PS3 later

Proud Owner of  a Wii and Xbox 360 and a PS3(When I get the money)

It will probably have good legs... If someone was in a rush to play this game they would have bought a 360 already.

I'm of the opinion that most multi-platform games that are released at a later time on another console can afford a less that standard pricepoint.  I think what 2K Games (and others) is trying to do is to milk what they can up front and later drop the price if they have to.

As I've said before the price of the game is probably irrelevant. For any PS3-only owners (which will be most of them) the game is simply another new release and therefore a normal price will be expected. However, in the UK it is not even selling at normal price, I got it for £30, £10 cheaper than usual.

Regarding the point that the port wasn't worth it, my understanding is that they ported the game in order to make Bioshock 2 a viable release on the PS3 having already decided to release the sequel on the PS3 at the same time as on the PC and the 360.

The game was out for one day in Europe and sold 31k, that does not sound bad to me.

I'm not saying it's a bad game(LOL double negatives). I'm saying that asking full price for a game that's been available for over a year is unreasonable.  I'm sure anyone who wanted the game would have gotten it on PC or the 360 by now.  It's like... selling year-old steak for full price.

I think it's pretty safe to say in this case that the less Bioshock PS3 cost, the more copies it will sell.  But for 2K Games, I can conceivable say that they might be making more profits initially with less copies sold but at a higher pricepoint.  It's a gamble if this is the case.

i don't think many are believing it to top much above 1 million... and with x-mas boast and NA numbers it should come close to it... i m not sure how much the publisher is hoping for it.

and for a re-release game i don't think bust even exists. :P
