Here is this month's list of newly announced exclusives:

http://www.gamingtarget.com/article.php?artid=725

PS3: 3 new exclusive titles announced
360: 5 new exclusive titles announced
Wii: 37 new exclusive titles announced

That's an enormous swing: given that the PS3 and Wii had nearly identical totals of exclusives when they were launched, the Wii now has 2.5 times as many.

2.5x as many - as launch exclusives, you mean.

Going by your numbers, the Wii is getting 7.4x more exclusives than the 360, and 12.3x the number of exculsives compared to the PS3; combining both the PS3 and 360 you still get 4.6x the number os exclusives.

Correct, I mean total exclusives, including those launched and those in development. You are correct, the Wii's rate of growth is much higher.

i know there are a couple PS3 games missing on there that were recently announced, don't know when this was last updated though

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

I am a pretty big Wii supporter (yes I mean big like tall and fat) but that list isn't all that impressive. It really isn't impressive on a game by game basis.

However, I expect this list to grow even more. Out of the New 3rd party exclusives - Chocobo's Dungeon, MOH heroes2 (though also on PSP) seem like the only big ones. Though I will be buying Ninjabread Man.

Off topic: On Ninjabread Man. I see this game selling well just on the novelty of it, propelling the developer to a higher level as far as capabilities. Who knows? Ninjabread Man could end up being the next Spyro or Crash (both of the first games were bleh, and were followed with decent sequels.)

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Posted this in the other thread, but it is better directed here:

That is quite a list of B-titles the Wii has there...I can't wait. I hope they surprise me when I have my Wii waiting for Nintendo's next games.

However, I still contend the PS3 (and 360) will have plenty enough that the Wii does not have. If you include games that the PS3 and 360 get that the Wii doesn't, the list is far more impressive for the PS360. Then, you look at Sony's lineup and you have to feel good about the PS3.

What you have there is a skewed list. Compare those Wii exlcusives with PS360 "exclusives."

Those 360 titles? Scene It (an over-priced DVD game), DDR 43 (give or take), Katamari (ok, ouch, but at least creator of that series is doing a PS3 exclusive), Viva min-games, and F.E.A.R. files (huh?). At least PS3 added Heavy Rain and Time Crisis 4 which I am looking forward to just because of the Guncon 3 (2 sensors).

Edit:  Not to get off-topic, but if the PS2 added waggle those 37 exlcusives probably drop to just a few.  Still, compare games that are on 360 and PS3 and not the Wii to those 37.

I absolutely agree with your assessment, although it's going to be hard for the "New IPs" crowd to continue to insist that the Wii is lacking in that regard.

This is the first crop of games to come around since the Wii became the clear forerunner in early 07. I expect the next crop to be larger, with the same number of budget titles, but more sequels and established titles thrown in there as well.

we're not talking about games on 360 and PS3, if they are on both they are not exclusive. The sales end up being split because they are so expensive people arent' going to buy both. When there are so many games on 360 and PS3 it will always favor the 360 with the lower price.

I agree with everything here but the last sentence. I absolutely agree that the PS3 will have a solid lineup throughout its lifespan, very much akin to the Gamecube or N64: not the most overwhelming selection, but a good number of solid-to-great titles nonetheless.

As for the last sentence, it's definitely your suggestion that is skewed. First, it's not PS360, it's usually PC/PS3/360: second, that means you are effectively setting up a "Wii vs. everything else in the world" scenario, which obviously isn't fair, and certainly isn't something that Microsoft or Sony would agree to; lastly, the PS3 is clearly riding the 360's coat tails, as the number of exclusives for the 360 indicates. You've used this tactic before -- you lump the 360 and PS3 together, which obviously makes the PS3 look much better, as it has a much lower install base and profoundly fewer exclusives, both in overall quality and quantity.

Just in this month's Game Informer I'll list the games appearing on the 360 and PS3 (and not the Wii) that are not on that site's list as "exclusive."

Prototype (cover feature, new game announced...Radical Entertainment, developer of the critically acclaimed Hulk game, is making a sandbox game),  Beowulf (Ubisoft), Destroy All Humans:  Path of the Furon (Sandblast),Condemned 2:  Bloodshot (Monolith Studios), Medal of Honor:  Airborne (EALA), and Conan (Nihilistic).

Others that come to mind from E3:  Call of Duty 4, RE5, SC5, Rock Band, UT3, Haze, Assassin's Creed, etc.

I think New IP's have a better chance on Wii, since motion controls make it less important and new or returning gamers don't care as much as us dusty obsolete hardcore gamers.

I don't know how the "hardcore" can complain about Wii, my PS3 is getting very little use... Thank god for Planet Earth on BluRay.
