Forums - Gaming Discussion - EA MAKING A CONSOLE??????

Well, it would certainly have the most exclusives of all the consoles. But then again, if it wasn't a success, they wouldn't make any money on their games since everything would be exclusive. I think they should just stick to making games and leave the machines to the Big THREE.

Electronic Arts simply doesn't have the capacity to compete with Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft. Think about it. If they did make a console then it stands to reason that all of EA's games would be exclusive to it. That's great, but can anyone honestly say that they would buy an EA console for The Sims, Madden NFL and Need for Speed? Seriously. Why would Electronic Arts want to cripple the sales of their own games like that?

Well keep this in mind. if Madden is exclusive they have a heavy foothold in the market already. Madden has an exclusive NFL license, and the release day of Madden hasn't become an unofficial holiday in the US for nothing. just by having an Exclusive madden alone would probably garner then a quarter of the market if not more. this wouldn't even include whatever else they could put together.

They can't take Madden exclusive due to contractual obligation, but if that contract is expiring soon, it'd still be a pretty powerful exclusive.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

Maybe Nvidia and EA are working a deal for PC games, to keep Nvidia alive.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

I wouldn't buy it. EA has the worst customer service ever.

haha, i don't believe this for a second.

EA is focusing entirely on improving the quality of it's games, Not on making hardware

2 out of 3 of the console makers are have lost money so far this gen, and the market certainly isn't big enough for 4 consoles

EA would be the smallest of the 4 console makers - Sony and MS are huge companies with vast cash reserves, even Ninty is much bigger than EA

I would like it to see an EA console. This market is big enough for 4 to 5 competing machines, not just 3. And third party developers would like it too...

I don't think it'll do anything for 3rd parties.

it would be the biggest when you consider it comes out every year and sells Huge. I'm not sure if they have any kind of long term contractual agreement with the other companies. I kinda doubt it though.

I will never buy another EA game again unless they release another General Chaos. The king of sequels fails to realize one of their best ideas.
