Yep, I also know people are really quick to use the term when their system of choice has an unexplainable drop in sales.  Usually it's accompanied with photo proof (anecdotal, of course) of a store or two with a sold-out sign, therefore making the system sold out.  Generally they are proven wrong in the coming weeks when sales stay on the same low trend, and they give up the fight when everyone moves on to another story, thus being able to make bold statements, be wrong, but not be proven wrong since no one has the time to follow that person around when they are proven wrong.  So yes, I am familiar with the terms, why?


that is your way of looking at it... but the low supply too japan has never been upped much so when it sells much inventory will disappear and shortages are the result =]

Good numbers for 360 but was expecting even a bigger gap with the price drop. Regardless, MS now has control of all three regions... for now.

Now the real question is how the 360 can beat the Wii for a week? That thing is a BEAST.

I'm scared!

Life goes on, and next week some thread will be made about sales again, and so on.

This has no effect on my life whats so ever, but I'll say something related to this topic because I might be considered trolling.

Nice sales for the 360, Wii and Ds never seem to surprise me. I won't speak of Sony.

It seems perfectly logical to take the sales from price cut weeks and assume the sales ratio will always stay that way.  What it the problem with that????

We won't know until March of next year if the price cut had the desired result. That is an unfortunate truth. Consistent sales increases can't be shown to be consistent in 3 or 4 weeks time, and holiday bumps/numbers are inflated and non-indicative of trends.

Every console should get a temporary price cut. In our instant gratification culture, we want to know the results of the 360 price cut. I say, wait 6 months, because those results aren't ready.

No. But if it ever did then Sony would have to worry about their European/Other marketshare. I think they'll be back in 2nd place soon enough.
