If say Mario Kart Wii2 or WiiFit2 comes out when the user base is over 100 million, its conceivable that new records could be set.

That's a trend that has always been there. Number 2 on the console (almost) never sells as much as the original. There are of course a few exceptions.

 

If a game on the Wii shall make 20M +, it has to be released within ~ 12 months from now. After that, there's going to be a hell of a lot more competition.

But why should a single-plat Wii game be counted against a triple plat of GTA? We have to check the rules here. If a Nintendogs Wii came out, but only sold 2M, could we say that the Wii had the highest non-bundled game, toghether with the DS? Or should we add the sale of SMB 3 that are sold from the GBA version, and the Virtual console one, then it would beat GTA:SA again. 

It's really very hard to make rules that everyone likes when you include multiplats, so I personally think we should stick to single-plats.

So the goal should be to sell around 17.5M (it's at 17.35M now). Mario Kart Wii is going to make that with a margin of 1-2M. I don't think any others Wii game ever will, other than Wii Sports, Wii Play and Resort is it's bundled.

Wait, GTA is the king? Halo 3 has the highest single plat opening, GTA is far behind for best selling total for the game, and for the total sales of the franchise, it's in 3rd place.

Also, it hasn't sold. Companies don't track sold, they track shipped - as that's what they know. Thinking otherwise just adds to the proof that you have no clue whatsoever regarding this topic.

That's just stupid. The game didn't revenue 500M dollars before 1 month had passed, at that time it had sold 8.3M, which might total 500M REVENUE. Profit has yet to break even 200M I would believe.

Lmao. Stop making me laugh. Grand Theft Auto IV sold 3.6 million copies in one day, $310 million, and more than 6 million (Mario kart Wii’s lifetime) in just a week, whcih equals more than $500 million in sales. Don’t cry now because no Wii game will ever have that. lol

Wii Sports will be a much higher seller than MK Wii. Wii Sports comes with the every new Wii console except for Japan.

MK Wii will be the highest selling non bundled game on Wii I predict it could sell over 20 million copies this generation.
Wii Sports will sell over 100 million due to coming with 90%+ new Wii purchases
