But I like the comparison to Gears2

Gears2:

Killzone2:
http://www.gametrailers.com/player/38548.html

Differences are pretty interesting:

If the camera zooms out in the Gears2 map it looks pretty bad and empty. If it zooms in so that characters or elements fill the screen it looks pretty damn cool.

Killzone2 looks awesome when it zooms out, the first map overviews and the last bigger scenes. So many details. But if the camera zooms into the characters they look a bit worse than Gears2.

But overall from this first look the K2 gameplay looks so much better. I like the squad based CoD4 approach and really cannot stand the Gears2 curbstamping and sawing.

@markers lol maybe I should of put it that way, it looks like its taking things that have been done in most of the best shooters and improving them just a little bit making the experience in the game down right... sweet. And the first person cover system... thats insane imo... cant wait to try that out for myself.

@kyros could you imagine leaving cover to curbstomp someone in multiplayer just to get shot in the head by a sniper :D quite ridiculous to me too imo pleases the gore addicts i suspose

Looks amazing. This game seems to be shaping up to be a great experience. Like people said not revolutionary, but as long as it does what it is supposed to do well, I don´t mind at all.

Oh... My...God... Killzone 2...will... revolutionize... shooters... wow O_O EPICNESS lol

If by revolutionise you mean "provide a pleasant if somewhat unoriginal experience with impressive aesthetics nonetheless comparable to Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2," then yes, Killzone 2 will revolutionise shooters.

@Video.  Some of that has been seen before, but I think parts of it are new.

Obviously it can revolutionize the genre. Afterall it isn't out yet.

It has a new cover system

Very unique look and feel

A very unique multiplayer mechanic. Now don't say it just combines stuff from other games, cause even if it were, putting them in one game could in theory still be a "revolution"

Furthermore since it isn't out yet, who is to tell how exacly it all will function ? only people who has played it can state how that build was. Noone can say the final one wont be a revolution to the shooter genre.

And yes, i'm well aware of the difference between revolution and evolution.

Check out my game about moles ^

Interesting.  You state that only people who have played the title can give an accurate representation of whether it will revolutionise the genre.  Yet you say you know the "feel" of the game.  I take it you have played it?

As for its supposedely unique look?  Its grey and brown.  See GeoW and Resistance.  The cover system simply seems to be a blend of GeoW and Uncharted.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

I am officially on the KillZone2 bandwagon, that was awesome!

Jesus Starcraft, no it doesnt blend the cover systems. Damnit just because its a cover system doesnt meen its persay "Like others" the cover system is in first person as is the rest of the game, last time I checked uncharted and gears are third person games. And you can get a general "feel" of a game by observing it in ways such as how the the gameplay looks, how the eviroment interacts with the players and vice versa. Also you obveously havnt seen much news on the game because enviroments arnt going to be just "Grey and Brown." It has already been previously stated that the level shown was only one of many different robust levels. Other levels in the game will include things such as forests, and other various landscapes of the helghan planet. Get your information straight. Also it does have a unique look, right now Killzone 2 has some of the best lighting mechanics ever seen in a console game so stfu and stop attacking everyone who has a different opinion other then yourself for christ sakes.
