Publishers like money.

That's one of the reasons I love my Wii: It's getting the most new IP of any other system out there, except perhaps the DS. If you look at the Wii's lineup for the rest of the year, the only big IPs are Fatal Frame IV and Animal Crossing. Many of the others are extremely promising-looking new IPs.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

when you buy a sequel to a game that you liked, you know you are most likely going to enjoy it hence the reason why i always buy the smackdown games its just like a habit now that i cannot get out of.

i do like complete new games but i buy more sequels then anything though because i know the quality i am going to get

Yes, because the PSN and XBA aren't getting new IPs at all.  -_-

If it’s a sequel it doesn’t mean its not new it has the same name but with a now feel too it like Mario Galaxy.

I never said or suggested otherwise. XBLA in particular has been extremely successful with new IP, between mega-hits like Braid, Geometry Wars, and Undertow, as well as lesser-known (but still great) games like Cloning Clyde and Wik: Fable of Souls. But there's a big difference between a $10 downloadable game and a $40-$60 full retail title, and the Wii has both HD consoles beat in the latter category. (I should also add, too, that it's no slouch in the former, either.)

yea cause lets compare Wii games to the PSN and XBA

Personally, I think the video game industry is stagnating due to the vast majority of publishers insistence of producing an endless barrage of sequels. I wish creativity and originality would become common-place once again.
