Why would you want to download movies, music and etc. if you bought a console to play games? What about game demos? Game videos? What about some decent storage space to hold the games you can download? What about game add-ons? Patches for games that are broken in some way? The Wii is at a disadvantage in a lot of ways. |
The Wii does have game videos, is now starting to utilize the SD card for storage space and will be getting game demos and downloadable content and already has them for the NDS.
Funny it seems the Wii is doing just find keeping the pace.

You cannot play games from the SD card. You can store them there, but that's it. You still have to copy them back to the Wii's internal memory to play them. "Will be getting" is not the same as "has".
The Wii isn't keeping pace in terms of features at all. It's not even remotely close, and I say that as a Wii owner myself. It is a basic gaming machine with graphics that are barely better than the last generation. The two things it has going for it are a unique control scheme and titles that you won't get to play on any other system and that's all. That is enough for many people of course, but to try and put the Wii on the same level as the PS3 or 360 in terms of features, the online system, or graphics, is just ridiculous because it's no contest.
