White Knight Story is not a Kingdom Hearts spinoff, it's an RPG game on its own being made by Level 5 and published by Sony. PS3 exclusive.

Didn't read the thread, did you :p

Nomura has no word on where his games ends at. The Square execs decide which platform is likely to be a better business option. Thats why most exclusives where on ps2. XBOX was far more powerful, but far less profitable.

I own the systems but have that desire to the franchise on the ps logo for some reason.

Probably because RPGs like Kingdom Hearts and Knight's Story don't really need a motion-sensitive controller or likely wouldn't benefit from one so all other things being equal PS3 versions would very likely have a better presentation (better graphics, sound, cg, loading times (because of the harddrive), etc).

KH will go on Wii, I hope

For the 3rd or 4th time on this topic, Knight's Story is not White Knight Story.  Knight's Story is refering to the secret trailer at the end of KH Final Mix, which is a spinoff series to KH main story.  That is the game most people expect to be on the PS3, rather than KH3, due to it's more serious hardcore looking style.

Legend, the PS3 does not have shorter load times than the Wii.  KH, an ACTION (key word there) RPG would benefit greatly from motion control sword fighting, and KH would be destroyed by any attempt to change it's graphics much, as it's current graphical style balances on a thin middleground between Disney and Final Fantasy, and any shift further in the Final Fantasy direction will destroy that balance.  The graphics can be improved from the PS2 games signifficantly for the Wii without destroying that balance, but any futher development would destroy that cartoony style, leaving really no reasons to put it on the PS3 except for perhaps better sound (But one can argue the immersion of a Wiimote speaker makes the audio on the Wii better too).

So logically, we have: A system capable of playing it without harming the garphical balance, with the largest user base, the largest amount of demographic, a family friendly image, cheap development costs, and a useful motion control system.

On the other side: We have 2 systems that won't sell games with a cutesie art style, cost a lot to develop for, don't have large user bases, don't fit the game's target demographic, and have graphical capabilities that are useless for the game.

The logical system is the Wii.  That's not to say that developers always make the logical choice, but the only reason for it not to be on the Wii is "OMG SONY LOYALTY"

I'd assume you didn't read most of it, as your comment has not only been addressed, but it's been adressed multiple times in multiple posts :p

Graphical balance?  LOL, seriously that is the flimsiest excuse I ever heard for not bringing a game to a more powerful system.  Look at all the changes Zelda went through from system to system, even between different games on the same system, and it didn't hurt the games in that case.  You can have a cartoony style on the PS3 for those games that would look simply gorgeous if they wanted it to remain that way.

Oh, you're right. Mickey Mouse and Goofy are obviously meant to have their faces bumpmapped and made to look like a real mouse and a real dog (thing)... I didn't really expect anymore out of people who don't appreciate art over graphics though. If they make it anymore realistic it will destroy the cartoon themes. If they don't they end up with something like Blue Dragon, which is wasted on the 360's power. It's not doing anything that a Wii couldn't graphically, in which case, why not make KH on the Wii? For the extra storage space which supposedly makes games longer, even though none have been?

Zelda has only really been split in graphical style in it's life twice. The first was it's move to 3D, the second was the division into 2 parts: Wind Waker and TP. The difference is Zelda didn't have to be true to source material (Disney). No one wants disney movies to look ridiculously realistic. Sure they could look like Blue Dragon, but the graphics of Blue Dragon could have been done by any system down to the PS2 (probably on the PS2, not completely sure) and if you aren't switching it for graphics, then it makes no sense to spend so much more development money to try and sell it to a SMALLER audience. Graphics weren't my only argument, they were just the only one you chose to attack because it was the only thing you could think of an argument against.

You have yet to give any reason whatsoever for the KH3 to be made on the PS3 or 360.

IMHO, it's not about making the characters bumpmapped and photorealistic (when dealing with Disney characters, but it does have alot to do with "magic" particle effects and other effects in game that sometimes require a bit more horsepower. Agree with me or not, but kids love all the sparkly and over the top effects.

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.
