It is in italian ( the initial city seems Venice too).

Wasn't the game in developement since the ps2 days? They probably already had the story finished when they were developing it for the ps2. So that means all they had to do was the CG, and the actual game right? So why do people think it will take so long to release? I would think it would be here before FFXIII, maybe even to hype the game more.

I think you're talking about FFXIII. VXIII started development after KHII.

awesome, hope it stays exclusive!!!!

From Wikipedia

Final Fantasy Versus XIII began development as early as 2003, two or three years prior to E3 2006 in conjunction with Final Fantasy XIII, after the PlayStation 3 Final Fantasy VII Technical Demo was completed.[12] Led by Tetsuya Nomura, the game was developed by the team responsible for the Kingdom Hearts games as well as Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. As with Final Fantasy XIII, development initiated on the PlayStation 2 but was later shifted to the PlayStation 3 when the development team determined that the PlayStation 2's hardware would not suffice for the "visual expression" that the team had initially decided upon and that the single DVD format did not have the adequate storage requirements. As such, most of the development was restarted on the PlayStation 3.[13]

A FFVXIII trailer...in italian? OK, talk about strange. Still, it looked very good. Nomura designs are simply the best.

Weird... Rufus Shinra and Rude? S-E recycles character models confirmed! XD Jk...

Trailer looks quite cool! I prefer medieval/fantasy FF but it looks good... I'm peculiarly curious about the battle system.

I am somewhere around 10,000,000x more excited about this game then FFXIII. The idea of a Final Fantasy in an actual modern world is just infinitely cooler then another semi medieval part techno setting. I've been waiting for another good modern themed RPG (from Square) for years since Parasite Eve was released. I wish they were working harder on this one, it looks far more exciting then anything else coming.

Oh. I had no idea they also started VXIII, but it probably wasn't in full production until after KHII.

Very good CGI as usually...

Your probably right. Also they have been distracted by other games like Twewy. Hopefully it comes sooner so KH3 comes this generation awell. Unless the KH team is big enough for both of them. The story for versus was probably finished or close to for the PS2 version though so it shouldn't have tooken as long as its been for the game to be done. I could see a release sometime in 2010 in the U.S. Don't want to get too optimistic though.
