Forums - Gaming Discussion - The future of the 360!

They could have at least made their "avatars" look different. I mean come on...Its like a direct ripoff of miis. And then yes Lips is a blatant singstar ripoff. And moneyhatting for RPG exclusivity, and FFXIII multiplat. *sigh*

Time to self detonate :)

MICROSOFT YOU MONOPOLISTIC BASTARDS STOP BUYING GAMES FROM YOUR COMPETITION, FIX VISTA BECAUSE I HATE HAVING TO STRUGGLE WITH IT BEING ANNOYING EVERY DAY, AND STOP TRYING TO BUY OFF YAHOO! Something must be done before they become the Carnegie of entertainment.

MS have a good strategy, they are playing a very clever game in my opinion in garnering support from different areas of the gaming 'community' each year.

Nintendo are organised and have direction

Sony are in a mess at the moment and need to get a grip.

Another bitter post? More like another assumption from another MS fan.My post is not bitter at all. I don't play FF games, i dont have the patience. Currently i have a 360 and a ps3 so again it makes no difference as well as a ps2 and a xbox.

Like many people on these forums, you totally miss the point being made and possibly look for an excuse to name. IMO it was a very average conference with not much on offer and the only thing that saved MS was FF! IMO that is somewhat pathetic! The fact that GoW2 and fable had to take a back seat to this is even more pathetic (proof of this is the vgc review of the conference where GoW2 and fable are listed towards the bottom in small writing, possibly written by someone who may favor MS over Sony).

So you say they have a good strategy. Yes, if buying and copying is considered a strategy as well as not being able to offer anything that hasn't been mentioned or shown already.

I do agree, Nintendo are well organized, they are the current gen leaders, why wouldn't they be. Stating the obvious there.

Sony being in a mess (how do you figure)? Well, considering they are gaining momentum, blu ray now being the definite next gen format and still having tons of 1st party exclusives seems pretty good. Sony being in a mess will only be true if they screw up at E3. Well we will soon find out. Not long to go nw!

You know what, you really don't sound to convincing, When you say you have a PS2 and an Xbox 1 did you not notice all the new things Hardware and software wise  the Xbox 1 bought with it ?.

And the 360 didn't you notice all the new things it could do a year before Sony and Nintendo could do.....

You do relize that some Sonys software also comes from buy outs don't you ? not so much in the games area but in the Video and sound software for the PC/mac take a google for SONIC FOUNDRY as a starter i.e  ACID, Sound Forge, and Vegas.....

Well I agree . Lips and the Avatar system is ... well lame . Netflix is far from enough , ad Final Fantasy XIII is still exclusive for the PS3 in Japan , so why did they even bother ? Thats where they would have really needed the game :?

Oh and I agree , it was a shame that GoW2 took only a 2nd tire position , when IMO it was thus far the best game shown :D

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Take out the FF announcement it's pretty much a boring presentation. Not to mention the one talking in front was boring to listen to.

did MS pay off S-E?

I didn't read anything that gave me that impression and the only thing Microsoft has gained from Pay off's is exclusive content (GTAIV) not whole games.

Where is the proof.

All this sounds like FF13 will not be released on PS3 at all. Get a grip!

It's just another of many games that are going multiplat, like BioShock and GTA.

In the long run other things will be more important, like additional features, like special remote controls, online, internet, blu-ray-player and last, but certainly not least, BUILD QUALITY.

Lost my faith in VGChartz. Too many stupid and ignorant Americans, even as moderators.

It's a shame, really. "The Boss" should do something radical about this Americanization, but it seems hardly feasible, so my days here are numbered.

Wait, so you actually agree with fen-Hung?

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Why does everyone assume MS paid SE for FF13? I don't think they did for a few reasons:

- MS didn't even announce it during their presentation
- SE badly needs a stronger Western presence, MS provides that
- Its not going to the 360 in Japan
- The White Engine has been running on the 360 for quite some time already
- SE and MS have apparently become pretty friendly with each other lately

It's possible MS paid for the game but it's far from a certainty.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

Seems pretty clear that Microsoft is less of an innovator than Sony (not to mention the big N), but I think you're being a bit harsh. If Lips really does work as advertised, then being able to use your own ripped music is a huge advantage over other music games IMO. And I'd be really surprised if they paid anything for Final Fantasy XIII. I rather think FFXIII was causing Square Enix to bleed money like crazy, and they looked at Sony's numbers and decided to go multiplat.

I'm thinking that the 360 doesn't have as great a future as the PS3 might. The PS3 is off to a rough start, sure, but it does have a lot going for it- BluRay, more powerful hardware (I guess just how much more is debatable), definitely more reliable hardware, free online, it's region free, etc. etc. Perhaps most importantly, it's got huge brand name and a lot of PS2 owners who just haven't jumped in on this generation yet. Once the prince point gets down, I have to think most of these people are sticking with Sony.

But as a gamer, and especially as a JRPG gamer, I also think 360 is the place to be right now. At least until Mistwalker starts developing for the PS3! And there's the rub for Sony - they always seems to have a lot of great stuff lined up for the future, but Microsoft has a great NOW.

Er... but then, I have Sea Life Safari showing on my Gamercard, so what the hell do I know?
