Then it said "Hard drive not found" or something like that. I kind of began panicking but I ejected the disc before doing anything else because I didn't want it stuck in there just in case the ps3 wouldn't turn back on. It ejected fine. No response from the controller at all so I had to push the power off button myself.

I pushed the power button to turn it back on and it worked. It seems fine now but that "Hard drive not found" message was really scary.

So after you restarted the machine the update worked or did you not try again?

Me? I went to download it like 2 hours ago. To find out it only downloaded the 2.36 version. For me to come here and be like "WTF guys?" to find out that sony pulled it. GR!

It says it is 2.40. It didn't look like the update fully went through to me but my PS3 says it did.
