Kingdom Hearts Thwii?

Kingdom Hearts has always been a game that defines the era.  It is a technical achievement.  I predict that the Wii will get a sidestory - and thats not hard to imagine since we have three different stories / eras that are interwined (Sora, Roxas, and the Future Keyblade War world);

BUT THE MAIN FRANCHISE WILL BE ON THE PLAYSTATION 3. 

This strategy satisfies Wii owners looking for a more casual game and Playstation 3 owners who would forgo the card / puzzle game for the full head RPG experience.  By the time the game is released the Playstation 3 will be hovering at $250 dollars anyhow.

People take for granted that Sony and Disney have a very close relationship thanks to the Bluray consortum and that Sony owns around 13% of Square Enix.

Kingdom Hearts has never been technically impressive. Sony owns closer to 7ish% of Square right now, and that didn't stop Dragon Quest from swapping platforms and it is as big a series roughly. And I don't think Sony has much leverage with Disney due to Blu-ray. disney is on pretty good terms with all the console manufacturers right now, and wouldn't see much improvement in their Blu-ray division because of a deal with Sony over a video game.

That woudl be more acurate, but linear scales like a certain number of times more never work to well.

Also you guys disney owns part of blu-ray so that doesn't mean they are close to sony because of it.

Reasons why KH3 will go to the Wii:

1: Money. After what has been pointed out numerous times and that this knowledge is so obvious it needs not a link, Disney is the ultimate factor in deciding where KH3 will go. Most companies are about the money. There is no denying that fact. SE and Disney are no different. The Wii will eat a game up and crap out millions. The PS3 and 360 do make profit, but not NEARLY to the extent of the Wii. Anyone denying this fact is, well, living in denial.

2. Demograph. I would define Kingdom Hearts as a casual-core game. When most people go into a videogame store, they see quirky videogame characters and TV icons. They do not see an unfathomably complicated story or insane button mashing. They see Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and think it is a game about them. The Wii is the definition of that demograph. The 360 is more of the hardcore crowd which KH is not. The PS3 is basically the 360, but is more appealing to an extent because of the added features. If it goes on the 360, there will be crap sales. PS3 could do it decent, but it should seem obvious that the Wii would do better due to reasons already stated.

3. Userbase. Obviously the PS360 have more users. But if the Wii keeps gaining marketshare, it could gain 50% by 2009. Also, if it is multi-platform, it would go to the PS3 as well because it would also sell decent, but I doubt it because their engines are very different and it would take a while to do it again from scratch. The Wii is also far easier to develop for.

So, in terms of which SE would pick as the consoles to develop for:

Wii
PS3
360

Oh my god! "Kingdom Hearts III" threads need to be banned. Square has so many other games they've announced that have to be released before we will ever see this game. Here's the list:

FF Dissidia (PSP)
Kingdom Hearts (PSP)
Kingdom Hearts (DS)
Dragon Quest IX (DS)
FFXIII (PS3)
FF Versus XIII (PS3) [This is being worked on by the Kingdom Hearts team]
Last Remnant (PS360)
Star Ocean IV (360)
Infinite Undiscovery (360)

That's 9 games that have been announced and none have seen release. Do you guys really think Square gives a hoot about Kingdom Hearts III right now? I'd bet my PS3 and Wii that they haven't started anything at all substantial with the game. There should be some kind of rule that says no threads about this game until Square has actually released some info or Square has released half of those games on that list, whichever comes first.

And let's not forget, FF and DQ are much bigger and more important franchises than KH, so Square's gonna do whatever they can to get those games out the door as quickly as possible.

Edit: Final Fantasy IV (DS) and Valkyrie Profile (DS) should go on that list as well.

Please stop making these threads. We all know KH3 is going to be Wii exclusive so there's no point in this torture.
