Honestly guys, didn't you ever stop to think why:

* This site tried to use the inane and bogus "10.5 million 360s sold" PR numbers a year and a half ago?

* This site at least on one occasion had 360 sold numbers higher than known shipping numbers?

* The silly significant down to single digit sales numbers that are just some kid sitting at home typing them in to make it look random

* The continuous and constant refusal to keep the PS3 numbers raised to known publicly verifiable sources?

* The absolutely tiny number of people who post here compared to other gargantuan sales threads on other sites?

* The fact that every single gaming forum on the Net blocks out the word 'vgchartz' or gets you immediately laughed at for trying to use the bogus numbers here?

This site is nothing more than another sad example of how console fans will believe numbers or claims not from their legitimacy but from how badly and desperately they want them to be true.

The very same thing happened last gen with Xbox fans and sales numbers. Their retarded fanboy dreams were crushed by cold hard reality just like the 360 fans have been today.

Stick a fork in this site. It's done.

Those are the numbers that this guy was supposedly working from.

PS3 does have a 1.5 mln lead in Japan (VGC is close to MC/Fam anyway)
When this MS guy said Europe I believe he was including other territories and Oceania (ie places where PS3 has not been released yet and a country where 360 has a lead), so the 1 million lead there seems plausable.

However the American numbers don't add up to what NPD themselves has, if both the Europe/Japan numbers are true (which they are) then the guy obviously made a mistake looking at NPD. NPD themselves in USA alone have a 6 million lead, so if you add in Canada (which was usually more pro 360 then USA) that will probably be nearer 6.5 million.

so a 6.5 million lead in America, add a 1 million lead in others, and take away 1.5 for Japan.... that means the lead is around 6 million and also that this guy makes no sense.

What I do know is that 360 is higher in America on VGC than NPD, we all knew that anyway, but not to the extent that this guy has mistakedly made you believe.

on the other hand we absolutley will wait for them to see if they correct it or not(if it was miss-understanding it would have been corrected an hour-2 hours after the aricle was published)

we will also wait for sony to release their shipment figures.

another thing that shows it's sold to custoemrs is that ,,,It says up to TODAY data we are 5 million in lead globally,,,there is no way in hell the know how much sony has shipped up to today(they don't even know the sony's shipment up to end of march as sony has not released it yet),,,

This is because even though they only shipped that amount during that quarter, there were still units sitting on store shelves from previous quarters.

For example, at the end of 2006 MS stuffed the retail channel with 360's(to reach the 10million shipped mark) and afterwards a lot of them were still sitting on store shelves. So in 2007 MS didn't ship as many units out, because they still had stock left on store shelves from the 2006 holidays.

Nope, only a 6 million from the most up to date NPD.

Roughly 5 million is the same number almost every other legitimate(in other words non-vgchartz) source uses and fits perfectly with the late 2008/early 2009 nine worldwide installed base passing of the PS3 over the 360 with current yearly sales estimates.
