Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Most under rated Wii game

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn was way too hard for me. I liked it though. It could have been a tad easier but I guess they wanted the consumer to get the most out of it.

Around the Network

man you guys have convinced me to pick up FE

Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, I don't think points should of been taken off for difficulty, F-Zero GX didn't have points taken off for difficulty....

Brawl FC: 2106-1814-5245

Mario Kart Wii: 82. Should be 91 if you ask me. I'ts a near perfect Mario Kart experience, everyone who complains about luck being too big a factor is 1) a fucking amateur or 2) doesn't like the concept of Mario Kart, which means this game is not for them.

Wii Sports: 76. I'd give Wii Sports 83, because it's just so much fun and it really was an innovative title. Lacked depth, but not as much as some people make it look.

Medal of Honor Heroes 2: 73. Way too low. This game should be 80 at least. It has the best controls of any console shooter ever and it easily is the best online third party game on the Wii. Campaign is lackluster, but everything else is good.

Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3: 72. I understand this is part 3 in a series that's been the same for ages, but it really is packed to the brim with content for the DBZ fan. The gameplay is a bit confusing, but solid. Definitely an 82 for me.

Endless Ocean: 72. I'd rate it at 79, because it's different, beautiful and really addictive.

And that's my list. Anyone who disagrees with me is a douchebag.

I'd say +10 for Fire Emblem, Excite Truck and Super Swing Golf...

I've rented many Wii games, and own most of the best ones, and i agree with most of the final Metacritic scores of the games i know... but these three are under-rated...

edit: and of course, Mario Kart should be around 90/100... don't believe the negative hype, if you like the serie, you'll love the Wii episode as well, it's a really great game...

I'll take these 4. All 4 should have rated fair higher.

Mario Party 8 - 62
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games - 67
Scarface: The World is Yours - 71
The Godfather: Blackhand Edition - 77

 I'd have to agree completely.

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

I would change the following:

14 Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 2008 83 - I would put this at an 88-90. I believe it is an evolution in sports game controls, and that soccer, NA football & hockey games of the future will move in this direction. Maybe even basketball as well.

6 Okami 2008 88 - This would get 1 92 in my book. It is the type of game to garnish both hours and hours of gameplay and years of epic sequels. I would give it a 95, but I'll take 3 points off for being so much of a Zelda knock off. not that there's anything wrong with being on the same level as Zelda.....

17 Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection 2008 81 - Pinball sims don't get an 81 ever. They are usually budget buin material at best. This is not. This I would give a 90. This is like owning all 10 machines and having them in your living room. I hope they make a Williams Volume 2.

21 Geometry Wars: Galaxies 2007 80 - Geometry Wars is everything good about Defender, Stargate, Robotron, Astroids and every other genre defining old school game. It's like all the good points of those games has been combined and fed a diet of speed and crack and modernized to boot. The only reason this game bombed was because a game with these types of graphics and gameplay could only sell for about $20, and Sierra was greedy and trying to get $40 out of it. So they sold none. If you can pick this up on the cheap, you'd be a fool not to. Oh, works best with the classic controller. Don't even try to do it with the nunchuck and IR. With the classic controller - 90. Let's hope they put the samaller "arcade" version on LIVE on Wii-Ware as well.

24 Godfather: Blackhand Edition, The 2007 77 - Ok this game sucked on every platform. EXCEPT the Wii (where it sold badly). That';s what happens when you release a port of a game much later even with more content and the best controls out for the wii in it's time. The Wii version is astoundingly good. REALLY good. Punching and throwing gangsters off of rooftops, through windows, etc feels, ....well, kick Ass. I am not the type of person who buys games like this, but the Blackhand Edition is one Wii title that nails it. It's immersive, it's big, it's fun, and it should have gotten an 85. I've loaned out this to about 5 people who all were amazed that it was actually so good. I've not played Scarface, but I've heard it was a similar experience.

36 Medal of Honor Heroes 2 2007 73 - Best FPS controls on the wii period. Better than MP3. With online multiplayer. That works well. Controls are very responsive and the immersive use of the Wii’s features make it much more memorable then the scores it was given. If was anyplace but WWII I'd give this a 90, but I'll take a whopping 10 points off just for using the overused WWII envioronment. I'd rescore this an 80.

58 Kororinpa: Marble Mania 2007 69 - I recently picked this up after seeing it mentioned on several other boards. It is a monkey ball/marble madness styled game, but will make you completely forget the other two titles. It is without a doubt a fun & engaging game that nailed the intuitive motion controls of the Wii with great accuracy. Not sure what the price was when it was new, that may be why it didn't sell well (see Geometry Wars above). My only complaint is that it wasn't as deep or lengthy as it could have been. I'll rescore this with a 77, if it had more length and depth it would get a low 80's.

68 Link's Crossbow Training 2007 68 - Essentially Duck Hunt for the Wii in a Zelda setting. Lot's of hidden easter eggs, and a $20 price point with the god-awful zapper. I play this with Nyko's amazing Perfect Shot gun 'shell' and find it lots of fun even with it's short length. For the price and gameplay, it gets a 75.

Honorable mentions:
29 Wii Sports 2006 76 - The system seller for the wii gets a score almost to the yellow level. Yes it's basic, shallow & casual, but this game alone has spawned more new gamers than the original Super Mario Brothers. With a group of friends it's always fun and can really be the center of an entire party. While reviewers hate 'party' and 'social' games this still deserve a score of at least 80 or more.

74 Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games 2007 67 - not my favorite game, but not a 67. My kids love it, and really is about a 70-72.

100 Mario Party 8 2007 62 - Same as Mario & Sonic. Game reviewers seem to either not get, or HATE party games. While I really dislike Mario Party, this is a great game for it's intended market, and should get about a 70-72 as well.

I'm interested that both Trauma Centers seem to always pop up. And Scarface. I might have to get one of the Trauma Centers eventually. Which one is better, NB?

BAM! There it is!

Wii Code 3456 7941 4060 2924
COD MW Reflex 541192229709

The motion controls really elevated Godfather. While Scarface went with the same old shit, EA (?!) actually innovated and turned a crappy GTA clone into a fun game.

I actually feel that Medal of Honor Heroes is consistently over-rated due to its excellent controls. Level design, multiplayer setup, enemy AI, weapon balance - these are all subpar, and waste the enormous potential this game had.

Wii Sports is probably the most under-rated game released for any system this generation. Trauam Center, Elebits, and RE:UC also, to some degree.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn - This has quickly become one of my most favorite games this generation. The difficulty is insane, but in a good way. I'd give it anywhere from 88-91 (original 78).

Sonic and the Secret Rings - I had fun with this Sonic game.........the first time I could say in a while without lying. The upgrading system sucked, and a couple of times the camera was unbearable (when the dinosaurs were chasing you), but otherwise, a solid Sonic experience. I'd give it 78-81 (original 69).

The Bigs - This baseball game was crazy. The motion controls really got me hooked in this game. Reviewers complained, but I had no problems with controls. Online play, and an actual season mode would have been appreciated, the road to the bigs was not good by itself. I'd give it 76-79 (original 66).

TMNT - A movie game, yes. However, better than most other movie games because a) The turtles were in it and b) Fighting with motion controls kicks ass. However, it was very short (7-8 hrs). I'd give it a 72 (original 60)

M&SatOG - I don't care what people say - this game is simply fun, alone or in a group. If you can survive the sore arm after the first day, it's loads of fun. I'd give this an 80-83 (original 67).

I loved One Piece Unlimited Adventure (I own the japanese version) and played about 200 hours on it. Ok, I'm fan of One Piece but this one deserves min 8-9/10 . I hated One Piece DS and Gamecube games.
Viva Unlimited Cruise!

Games like Trauma Center NB, Kororinpa, M&S, MP8 and surely "Mario Kart Wii" are all underrated.
The MK Wii is better than any MK released until today and its online is so great!
