I'm talking about the game design and assets in general, Cyberpunk looks 8th gen. Numerous games have visual features exclusive to PC. You know what I referring to but opting to play dumb it seems.

Maybe on a base Xbox One, which will likely be the worst looking release of the game with severely cut back assets... But I am not really saying anything new here, the Xbox One has trailed the other platforms all generation long in regards to visuals.

Mr Puggsly said:

Right, Steam is obviously above average specs. We agree on that.

No we don't. Don't put words in my mouth.

Mr Puggsly said:

Just clarified games don't need to be designed for X1X to benefit from the specs. But you seem to be playing dumb again.

I am going to ask you to back off on the name calling.

There are games on Xbox One X which don't benefit from the additional specs.

Guess you aren't able to find a source to reinforce your arguments like I have?

Mr Puggsly said:

Again, your post suggested content designed for X1X is only doing 720p. Sometimes your words can suggest something you didn't intend, but I think you knew what you were doing.

The Xbox One X is an Xbox One. All Xbox One content is technically designed for it.

Magnetic: Cage Closed is 720p on PS4 I believe, and Ark Survival Evolved is either 680p or 720p depending on whether you choose normal or detail mode.

A lot of games with dynamic resolution can go to 720p on PS4 as well when pushed, like Titanfall 2 and Nioh.

Happily stand corrected! I would assume their visual makeup would still be a step up over the Xbox one version though.

Mr Puggsly said:

No point in extending that irrelevant argument. His wording suggested there are 720p games designed for X1X.

False. That is merely your interpretation.

I don't know what to vote for the thread. It's not a good news to wait September... I would like to vote : I won't wait !

Imagine already not being able to play Persona 5 Royal in March and Final Fantasy VII Remake in April. Majority will be able to play...

But some won't.

Majority will be able to play, vast majority won't bother with either of those games

X1 ports generally look about the same as PS4 versions with lower resolutions and sometimes lowered settings on shadows, etc. You make it sound like a significant overhaul is done on visuals or assets to make a game function on X1. This is some of the weakest arguments I've ever seen you make.

People have suddenly come to conclusion X1 is more like Switch in capabilities.

So your argument was X1X is waste of money if you're solely playing the games that don't benefit from X1X? Boy, who gives a shit? The most active games on X1 all benefit from X1X it seems. Many games not on that list do as well.

Who bought a X1X to play games that don't benefit? Its just a dumb argument.

No, a game designed to only run at 720p on X1 clearly isnt designed for X1X. Those are the games you were focusing on. That's obviously the point. Any benefits on X1X is mostly brute force as already discussed.

Correct. If a game doesn't show any benefit on the Xbox One X (And there are a few!), then it's a bad buy.
What games people play will differ from person to person due to personal taste.

Probably those who thought their game library would magically become 4k?

The Xbox One X is an Xbox One, it is part of the Xbox One Platform.

It is a console designed to operate the entire Xbox One games library.

And games are designed for the Xbox One platform.

Games don't always target all the features/aspects of a console. I.E. How many games support Kinect these days despite there being a few million consoles that sold with it bundled in?

Yeah, we both own a Xbox One, maybe even multiple. What ports are that shocking? Even the disappointing ones are mostly okay.

You spoke as if X1 is really gonna struggle with Cyberpunk. But if PS4 can handle it, I think it will be fine.

I'm glad you're defending uninformed consumers that expected all content to become 4K on X1X. Not really relevant, but that's great.

X1X didn't always exist. Therefore many games weren't designed for it. Sometimes developers simply ignore it as well, like Shenmue 1 and 2.

Are you comparing Kinect to X1X? Seriously, your arguments in this thread are among your worst. Was Kinect ever used to increase resolution and performance? I am slightly amused seeing you grasp at straws though.

Ok what’s the point debating this. Xbox One is a weak console that was initially more designed for TV. Don Mattrick got booted out for his shitty vision.

On behalf of Xbox fans here let me just say: “oops” and picture me shrugging my arms lol

Like what else is there to say???

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Xbox One simply wasnt designed to play games.

Its ability to handle the same games on PS4 is just a coincidence.

Battlefield 4 is 720P, several Call of Duty games are 720P.
I would also like Dragon Age: Inquisition to be full 1080P as well... The game runs at a full 1080P on a base Playstation 4, but only 900P on an Xbox One X.

Whilst 900P is a step up over 720P, it's still a step down from 1080P.

Lots of games are sub 1080P, which is entirely because Microsoft released a console with insufficient hardware capability which developers tried their best to work with for years... That of course has a flow-on effect to the iterative "Pro" console that came years later that runs the same library.

ResolutionGate was a real thing.

Of course you will ignore the entire framed context of my point and turn it into something that was never intentioned. - Go back and re-read it please.

I don't feel game being 720p or 900p on X1 means it got a shockingly bad port or whatever. You argument is irrelevant given I wasn't denying PS4 versions generally look better.

PS4 speca are in fact a step up given we've seen that in practice. I said if PS4 can handle Cyberpunk, then the X1 version will be fine given what we've seen in practice.

The X1X is not a X1. There is a vast disparity in specs. While they support the same games, the X1X does things the X1 can't duplicate due to the vast disparity.

You didn't buy the X1X because it has the same capabilities.
