Do you guys think that the PS5 specs leaks before tomorrow? What are the leading rumors?

Even if it leaks, doesn't really matter much. Less than 24 hours to go already. I expect more of the same as Series X. I wonder if Sony has something else to say except what Microsoft already said.

So anybody else having issues with X1 achievements not unlocking apparently I'm not the only one having this problem hopefully they fix it soon did some hard restarts and even did a system reset and that didn't fix the problem.

Well yeah, I played Cuphead with my wife couple hours ago and not a single achievement unlocked. Killed bosses without taking damage, killed them with super strikes, parried 5 times before landing.. nothing.

I did unlock a Sea of Thieves achievement earlier today though. Weird and frustrating. Maybe a live issue?

I disagree. I doubt that Sony would sacrifice the compactness of their console for power and we already see that Series X is quite big compared to current consoles on the market. I think Sony will go with the best possible hardware to fit in standard console form factor.

Idk I don't think Sony will want to lose the power argument just to keep their console compact. Jason is saying he's hearing from a developer that it's the most exciting hardware in 20 years, particularly hyping up the SSD and CPU so perhaps Sony is better there while Xbox is better in GPU.

Let's wait and see. I doubt Sony is willing to go with the tower design and it seems unlikely that console that can match Series X power is possible in standard console form factor. I also really hope that it isn't the case because if MS won't have power argument they will end up in pretty bad situation coming next gen. Power is probably the only advantage they can currently have, unfortunately. Unless, they are willing to go 100$ cheaper than PS5. Less powerful Xbox for the same price as PS5 will be unappealing product for mass market considering how this gen turned out for both sides.

1: PlayStation lost the power argument 3+ years ago when XB1X launched.
2: The majority of the rumors placed XBX at 12 teraflops (now confirmed) and PS5 at 9-11 teraflops.
3: AMD's Sebastien Nussbaum: "The Xbox Series X is going to be a beacon of technical innovation leadership for this console generation" (link).
4: Microsoft calls XBX "Most Powerful" (as well as Fastest) and I don't think they'd do that unless they are 120% sure (link).

You never know, but I'd personally be quite surprised if XBX doesn't have an edge power wise.

Wanted to try PSO2 but it seems that the servers are down :(

Points 1,4 doesn't really matter much. Sony lost power argument for mid-gen consoles which isn't that big of a deal. And PS4 Pro released one year before One X. As for "Most powerful" - it's marketing talk. They put it in the context of "Most powerful" Xbox, not any console.

Eh, that's a mid-gen upgrade, I guess technically correct but I don't think they'd really care about losing there, beside Xbox One X had a whole year ahead, IIRC Xbox had two consoles planned and decided to go with the more powerful but later launching version.

Missed that quote from AMD, definitely interesting wording.

Regarding Microsoft's wording though, recently they've used a lot of "Our" most powerful console, for example on their web-page while they do have the slogan "Fastest, Most Powerful" at the bottom they have "Xbox Series X is our most powerful console ever" so I don't think Microsoft is too sure yet about if they beat PS5.

I think that "Fastest, Most Powerful" slogan is more to do with Lockhart, for example Lockhart will have a similar tagline except it will be "Digital, Best Value" or something like that.

Bold: Good point. It could of course be in comparison to Lockhart. But yeah, Nussbaum's quote sounds like XBX probably has the edge.

Off topic: Great job running this thread, man. I don't think the PS Nation thread has been close to being this successful since Pesus was in charge of it.

Ya'll know how MS kept pushing back the spec reveal. Maybe they knew Sony would have a weaker console and were announcing their specs tomorrow so they had their spec reveal yesterday so headlines could read xbox is more powerful etc.
