Forums - Gaming Discussion - Rumor: Tony Hawk and Activision are working on a new Pro Skater game

They should just fully reboot it and just leave the number off the end. I do have a important query Activision...

Will it have Bam Magera in it?

Didn't they make one earlier this gen that was poorly recieved?

When did they renew the license? Considering the last game was a glitchfest, I would've assumed they would give the license to someone else.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I grew up playing a bit of the original games on the PS1 so this should excite me but I have 0 trust in Activision after what they did with the last game.

I loved THPS1 and 2, and bought the 5 for nostalgia but haven't played yet. Doesn't seem a good game.

I remember them making Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD for the PS3 and 360 last generation. It was a psuedo-remake of THPS 1 and 2, with 3 as DLC. I say psuedo-remake because only 3 levels were from THPS1, 4 levels were from THPS2, and 3 levels were from THPS3.

Anyway, the game was awful. The physics were not just wrong, they were a glitchy mess. Half the songs were from the original games, that part was good. The other half of the songs were just awful, and there were only 14 included songs to begin with (Total, THPS 1, 2 and 3 have 48 songs...yet they only sought to include 7 of them). Then there were baffling omissions like the lack of a split-screen multiplayer mode and park editor.

Basically, it was a bad game. Even worse they used similar assets for THPS5 which ended up being an even worse mess than the HD collection was. It'd need to be really good for me to buy THPS again.

If it's anything like the last one they made its a pass from me.

I played THPS 1, 2, and 3 and was pretty much done with it by then . I mean, it was great and all, but, as Lt. Worf was fond of saying: "ENOUGH!"

That was also way back when buying/playing an Activision game was still a thing I did. Also, watch Activision completely butcher and pervert it.

@ironmanDX I suppose they could put Bam in it, but he's in pretty rough shape these days. At the very least, I think he's well removed from his time as a professional.

Haven't really enjoyed a THPS game since the third one (which I still play, along with the second). I'll keep an eye out for this, but hopes aren't high.
