Serenes Forest is an amazing resource for Fire Emblem fans. It's been a while since I used it but I think it's time to break it out again. Posting here because I think some people will find it useful. Breaks down the base stats and growth rates and max stats of different units, the modifiers to stats that classes add, and eventually it'll probably have a complete guide of every calculation the game does, if they do what they did for past games in the series.

Mild spoiler warning, as the lists will obviously contain characters and elements you may not have seen yet.

I just finished the three houses (not done with the 4th play through though) and I have to say, giving this anything over an 8 is too generous. The way they handled some story elements was really bad, like rushed AAA levels of bad. To the point where it brings down the entire experience. This was my most hyped game for 2019 (alonside TCSIII) and it failed a little bit to meet my expectations. Still a great game though, but imo the score is a little too high.

The battles are great. But the exploring it tedious and boring. Too much talking. 8/10 so far, I'm 20 hours in.

You know you can skip all of that if you want to. You dont have to talk to everyone in the school. You can just do the quests/activities, or talk to the people in your class or the students you want to recruit.

The game give you sooo many options to enjoy the game.

If you didnt enjoy it as you expected doesnt mean everyone will have the same opinion as you. If you have been lurking on review sites/forums/ social media. Your opinion is the minority.

I decided to restart at 25 hours in, since I wasn't building some of my characters right. Best practice is to class up as soon as you hit the level. Higher classes offer you better stat growth. For example: If you wait until level 8 to change to a beginner class you'll lose out on three levels of beginner class growth. I had two or three characters at level 19 and they hadn't reached their intermediate class yet. They also didn't pass their beginner's exam until levels 8-9. -_-

It should go much faster this time, since I won't be running around talking to everybody. A lot of my time on my first time with the game was spent just letting the characters talk, so that I could enjoy the voice acting. This time I'll just be mashing A on needed conversations, and skipping talking to people entirely.

Yeah. I kept reading on what people are doing on reddit. Seems like that is the best way. The only reason to wait is because of the skill you get. But definetly not in the early class.

Honestly, I'd like to call fake on this one. it wouldn't be an healthy thing to begin with. The game was released only 10 days ago !

10 hours per day, totally doable.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

3 playthorughs in under 100 hours for what is called one of the longest games to complete ?

I simply don't believe it ... or I would if he gave us a screenshot of his run time.

I also find that hard to believe, although I do think it's possible to do.

I haven't been playing enough of this game. I'm only 8 hours in and for my playtime I should be much farther. I have only done three battles so far.

Okay I restarted on hard difficulty. OMG it's brutal! Two enemies can easily kill most of your characters, and your mages will get one-shot if you are not careful! I spent over an hour last night just trying to beat the first bandit group without losing a student!

I'm not that far into the game myself, but I'm also playing on hard mode, and I'm sure it's going to get tough at some point, but if you're referring to the tutorial at the beginning, then I didn't have that problem. It seemed like the game guided me on every turn telling me where to go. It sounds like you might be farther than me, though.

Are you doing classic as well? That's how I played through Conquest, and I remember some missions requiring multiple resets, but I eventually managed, so I figured I'd carry on that legacy with Three Houses as well.

Uhmm, the game isn't that long... That 80 hour per house was pretty exaggerated. My first clear was 36 hours and that was me trying to look at guides and trying to save everyone. Second and third one went a lot faster since I didn't have to go through the unnecessary stuff like looking at their bonding events or roaming around the monastery. I'd have beaten this game much faster if the switch didn't have to die every two hours (and before you ask, why not just plug it into the TV, I play Three houses like I play VN's, with headphones.) Look at it this way, a VN called Rio Reincarnation was released on July 23, according to VNDB it's a 50+ hour game, I finished that before Three Houses came out on the 26th at midnight.
