Daaamn chakkra.. I thank you for your kind words but geez..

But someone already answered, you don't start fighting at parlays. She'd also risk being burned by the dragon on the spot. And she seemed confident they can handle one more dragon anyway and win the war.

You could also make a case that being known as a Queen who attacks the enemy in parlay might upset other rules from Westeros and cause issues to her if there would be another conflict.

There are some actual goofy stuff in the show. Why are you doing this to yourself? I bet you used to like GoT. I'm not buying this sudden 180 degree turn. It's out of character.

Dany going rogue on the city is in itself not really out of character but there is some serious story buildup to that lacking in my opinion.

The thing is that HBO wanted this to be a 10 episodes long season and they even could have gotten a season 9(but they refused) so this season could focus on the night king and white walkers alone. They had the resources to make the story more drawn out and did not utilize it because of being lost or out of inspiration without the books i dont know?

I thought these writers could do better on their own but im sadly mistaken.

That was a parley, you dont kill people at a parley.

In real life I could buy that explanation. But tell me, at which point have Cersei, Euron and Qyburn shown any kind of honor?

In fact, Cersei had hated Tyrion all her life; had tried to kill him multiple times (hiring an assassin just recently to do so) and now that she had him right in front of her, she suddenly had a change of heart?.

And that is without taking into consideration the fact that she had been told by a witch that a younger brother would kill her so SHE HAD EVERY REASON TO BE SCARED OF TYRION AT THAT POINT.

You're right that none of those 3 are very honorable and its within reason that they would break the rules but at the same time they are very arrogant and momentum was in their favor having recently killed a dragon and the rest of their fleet so it's also within reason that they would prolong their enemies suffering.

I have been very disappointed with the show since season 5 but I dont have any issues with this particular scene.

You see, particularly I refrain from calling out writers or their writing when a certain character behaves idiotically, or refuses to do the obvious thing within the context they're living through. This is very realistic on itself, for people often are just like that.

But there are situations where every character is playing dumb. Then it comes across as a serious shortcoming in the plot. The issue isn't merely Cersei or Euron being arrogant, but how everyone in the other side is OK with dangering themselves when characters like Tyrion and Jon are entirely aware of events like the Red Wedding, the explosion of Baelor's Sept etc. and know how devious their enemies can be.

Hell, Dany herself had formerly used a parlay situation to pull a sudden reversal of fortunes against the slaver coallition laying siege to Meereen.

Very true, Dany & Tyrion had zero reason to trust that Cersei would be honorable in such a situation and should have remained out of harm's way while sending an envoy.

lol Of course we all used to love the show. Why on earth else would we be here on this forum if we did not?

But I guess you are right; the writers not only managed to make their characters do a 180, but also their whole audience.

I guess they must be proud. Making people hate your work must be the ultimate goal of any good writer.

There's going to be many tired people at workplaces tomorrow. Finale airs at 3:00am here and most GoT fans are going to stay up or wake up to watch it. Me and my wife included. You don't want to be the one who didn't see it yet :

This season has been such a disappointment, I’m going to watch tonights and be done with it but it’s unfortunate. They’ve rushed so much and made a terrible last season

Let's get it over with

Sansa and Arya have been edgy teenage shit tier in the last two seasons. Now more than ever
