The graphics looks very good and run better than i thought.

That looks pretty solid. I will be picking it up normally since i never played the other versions .

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I've seen a lot of this game, and I still don't get what is so special about it. Still, pretty solid Switch performance.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

While it is difficult to get an exact assessment from off-screen footage, this does look like an extremely impressive conversion, especially considering how demanding the base game is. Hellblade is probably the most graphically advanced Unreal Engine 4 game to date, and unlike ports like Doom and Wolfenstein II it doesn't have the luxury of halving the framerate on Switch as it's already a 30fps game on PS4/Xbone.

At this point it's looking very likely I'll be picking this one up when it launches. I hope we get a release date soon.

Need a Digital Foundry analysis, but it is looking impressive.
Unreal Engine has always been extremely scale-able which plays in the Switch's favor.

Stuff like this has me very excited for the future of Nintendo's hybrid devices. It can only go up from here, although I'm sure Digital Foundry will expose its incompetence this is very impressive. Now I need to see it undocked...

It looked spectacular, really messes with your head (if you wear headphones), and has some engaging but simple "high stakes" combat. That's all I'll say without spoiling it.

A lot of the appeal is on very superficial stuff. Ya know:

"WOW an indie game that looks like a triple A title! Automatically game of the year 10/10! Hey remember when everyone talked about how great indies were for not focusing on the superficial over substance? Remember when we said how indie games were great because they tried new things and explored new ground? Remember when we said how indies focused gameplay over everything else?

...

WELL FUCK ALL THAT! A LINEAR 7 HOUR GAME WITH SHITTY FILLER TIME-WASTING PUZZLES AND BASIC BLAND COMBAT? OH IT HAS THE GRAPHICS OF A TRIPLE A GAME? WOO! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! YEAH!"

The game isn't really "indie" mind you based on your definition, but even if we were to consider it AA a lot of the people who praise this kind of thing just come off as very hypocritical tbh.

The voice acting is great though.

It bodes well for the quality of the port that they're willing to showcase it publicly, as well as both the game's developer and the studio doing the port both being quite vocal about "hey we're working on this!"

I imagine if they knew it was going to be awful they'd be keeping it quiet.

It looks exceptionnal, but there is not PS4 version running next to it, and a closer look makes notice that there is NO shadow at all, lights and ambiant effects also seem nearly absent.
What seems too surprising here is the resolution of the textures which is unusual on the Switch.
Maybe there are still deep potential of optimisation on the Switch, and this would reveal that PS4 and XBOX1 are often poorly optimised and dev are lazy on these machines.
