Huh. I feel like the PS4's lead over the Switch should be bigger. Then again it's a pretty old console, and a lot of the Resident Evil audience is probably already on the console.

Huh .... I didn't even notice that Kingdom Hearts 3 released earlier in Japan than everywhere else. Thought it released worldwide next week.
Ah well, I guess it doesn't matter. Kingdom Hearts 3 will give a similar boost next week too, so this is quite good all things considered.
The return of the king?
I suspect kings will be returning a lot all year long in 2019

Last year for reference
PS4: 393,821 (-34.3%)
NS: 200,441 (+7.2%)
X1: 92,315 (-17.5%)
3DS: 76,941 (-46.3%)

Compared to last year's numbers:
PS4: - 131,920
NSW: + 14,376
XBO: - 16,127
3DS: - 35,647
PSV: - 4,170
The Switch is the only one that's up YoY for this week.
The other four systems are starting to show their age (Although, the 3DS has been showing it for a while now.)

Nah like you said age of console+RE audience already on the console meant that a big boost was never likely. All things considered a 50k WoW boost is pretty decent.
Plus next week should remain stable or slightly higher thanks to KH3 western release.

PS4 is going to be compared badly from last year numbers, because January 2018 was very good for PS4 worldwide (thanks for JP and MH World). I prefer to see what PS4 is going to do in Feb and March compared to last year to make a better guess on PS4's performance for 2019.
As for Switch, little by little aproaching the same baseline of sales as last year. I really think sales are going to be flat this 1st half of the year compared to 2018. JP maybe is going to be better but i won't be surprised if EU and US are lower than last year.
And XBO showing better than probably is doing in reality, because i don't really expect XBO doing so close as last year without the holiday deals and without a recent XBO X console like last year.
These very first months of the year are going to be really hard to track correctly i am afraid. Until NPD's and Q4 results won't know for sure.

Idk Japan is up 45% YoY in the first 6 weeks of the year and it's not like Japan has gotten anything significant that skipped the West.
I know each region is going to have their own trends but I just dont see why Japan would be up so much while the West is down or stagnant.

Any word on when the weekly numbers on the front page will be fixed?
