Im glad then that its not coming this year. I really hate yearly releases. I guest its just me though as Call of duty seems to be #1 every year.

How is it on track to beat it? Games sell their most on the very first few months. Its only at half of the previous.. With gamepass now a thing there really is no reason to buy it anymore. if it passes 2.5m life time as actual sales it will be lucky. That more people will end up playing it thanks to gamepass, sure that probably true.

Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport are two completely different games so even with their regular release schedule they are not yearly releases.  Its on track to beat it since so far the physical numbers are higher then the third games during the same time plus it sold a lot more digitally since close to one million people bought the digital ultimate edition which gave you early access to the game before the game was officially released.  It already has surpassed way more then 2.5 million copies already like I said earlier it already surpassed five million total players a while back.

It might be diferent sure, but most people dont see  it that way, or even care. Its like call of duty. No one cares one is in the future another in the past it plays the same and people just see another call of duty. The same with forza, the only real change is that one is off road.

I see, this must be the first forza to be available online. Gotcha.

I remember they cancelled Scalebound.

But this bad game was ok. (PC version is meta 54)

Why ?

Microsoft released Lococycle but canceled Scalebound.

Imagine how bad it must have been

I was comparing horizons with previous horizons, and Motorsports with previous Motorsport. And if you saw the chart, they have been selling less with each iteration. You can say it changes with every release, but its still a simulation, theres only so much they can do to stick to what its trying to imitate.

And like I said to chris hu, being on track used to mean something, not for xbox after gamepass. First thing is that most games, specially multiplayer ones sell the most in the first few months and now with gamepass what incetive do people have to buy the game.

No, it's not a simulation (the horizon series). Simulators are games like Gran Turismo and Project Cars. Games like Forza Horizon and Need for Speed are more arcade racers.

Heck, in one of the DLC's, you're doing loop de loops on hot wheels tracks:

For the last time, ITS. NOT. A. SIMULATION.

Also, just checked, and at this point in FH3's life it had sold about the same as Horizon 4. So it went up from FH2 to FH3, and stayed flat from FH3 to FH4.

FH2 was a the exeption to the rule out of 11 games, ok that destroyed my argument.

Thats great for FH4, but gamepass was not a thing back in the FH3 days. There where people who dint buy a game at full price and bought it down the line, with gamepass thats gone. I highly doubt this game will sell much more.

I think what you can say is that this is not  a 100% simulation. as the most this series varies is that you can go off road. The gamplay dosent change that much just cuz its an openworld map. But like I said before, people see forza and thats all, like any call of duty is just another call of duty.

They painted themselves into a corner by making this the poster boy for the cloud,  they were under the pump with their forced back down along with xbox being underpowered and kinetic making it overpriced , you then got azure and the cloud being used for damage control, with marketing that explained the power difference away by implying that Sony went for sheer brute force but MS's approach of smart hardware design combined with clever software was more than it's equal and Crackdown was going to show the future in cloud aided  game design now with that message being heeded by one side and disparaged by the other, it became a bigger media target than it should have been ,it had a lot riding on it.So the timeline of delays probably went like this, first few delays aimed at  getting what they envisioned, then all those time delays  lead to the point of no return, where getting it out the door with as much intact as they can manage so they can at least say it's done is the aim.

The part I bolded was all I read and rolled my eyes... maybe you make some good points, but I'm not gonna bother reading any further.

I think there is enough evidence pointing to problems working with Platinum Games. Crackdown 3 had other developers, primarily Sumo.

If MS really feels Scalebound had potential, Ninja Theory could continue where they left off. Could be a great 9th gen game.

Ninja theory can make a much better job. Im not aware of an platinum game with any depth to it. I think ninja theory can make a good character with a much better story, maybe less over the top action. platinum is just crazy over the top action and I have never cared for any of their characters.

Lol this thread

1. I have said multiple times that MS’s output this gen was bad, not sure why people seem to think the opposite

2. I’m saying MS’s first party has went through a lot of changes in the last year so idk how it’s worrying for next gen when we haven’t even seen what they can do.

There’s a lot of concern trolling here, almost no one expected this to turn out good but please continue. Imagine being so invested in a console you don’t like, can’t relate. Lol

If you don't have any good examples, then you still have reasons to worry.

Good that you are trying to pass a image that there is trolling involved.

I keep seeing comments like "ohhh this is just this sorta game" or "da critics are just totally out of whack with this, they just don't understand".

Critics have praised many games that do something similar to Crackdown. Many games have gotten a score when they were "just trying to achieve what Crackdown wanted to achieve". To imply that people must be looking for a deeper alternative or fundamentally don't understand the point of the game because it got a negative metacritic score is silly. You can make a game who's goal is to make things go boom boom and bang bang, and it can still be not bad. Or it can still be received positively. Shocking, I know.

Disagreeing with critics is fine, but let's not pretend like good simple fun is just too abstract a concept for them. That's disingenuous. They may be pretentious, but they aren't that pretentious. I'm willing to admit that how "worthy" a game is of a high score is a genuine problem with many game reviews, but it's not really the case with Crackdown. It's just a game which is divisive and which many people think is either really good, really bad or really mediocre. That's all there is to say about it really.

Also, it's funny to see the sentiment come out that "not every game is for everyone/needs to be tailor made for everyone" ...... until the 90+ meta game gets a "troll" review that states a different opinion

Try watching the Digital Foundry video about this game.

That way you can see what a person that enjoys it thinks, then compare that to the critics that seem to hate every aspect of this game.

So basically your telling him to watch a video that confirms your bias...nice.

I've been poking my head into this thread to see how things are going since the beginning and all I've seen from you is a series of excuses and defenses for Microsoft. I've not engaged with you because using the F-word is against the rules but you clearly have a bias in favour of Microsoft. This is fine, but don't act like you don't, and don't be shocked when people call you out on it.

I confess I'm biased towards Sony/Nintendo. I'm a total F-word for them and despite once liking Microsoft I've lost all faith in them. I have no problem admitting I'm more likely to be critical of Microsoft for their mistakes, but let's be honest, they give me a lot to criticize.

Man it must suck to be a Xbox fan nowadays. Sony keeps nailing it with their exclusives, while MS keeps producing these piles of steaming poo.

This is a common take at various vidya game places and I don’t really get it. If you’re a fan of something, there’s a reason you’re a fan. What you’re doing here is basically going up to an NBA fan and saying “man it must suck to watch this sport, the NFL makes way more money and gets much better ratings!”. Sure, it might be true, but for most fans, it’s irrelevant.

Im an Xbox fan because I love the controller, the UI, XBL is way better than PSN imho, and when it comes to the exclusives, I prefer more of what Microsoft offers. Like the vast majority of gamers, most of my gaming is done on multiplats. Sure, Sony has a great shooter franchise in Uncharted. Idc, tried em all, not a fan. God of War seems good from what I played, I’ll get back to it someday, never tried it on my Pro. If you take the best PS4 games Sony has made or paid to be made, I’d still take the Xbox controller and Horizon and XBL, because those Sony games just don’t appeal to me much, especially now that they’re injecting Naughty Dogs formula into seemingly all of their games.

Pretty amazing that you only got a warning for that post.

So much this.

I game on Xbox because for me it's simply the best console with the best games. I've got plenty of friends who game on Playstation so I've played some of the exclusives but not a single one I'd want to play over Gears of War or Sea of Thieves for example. There's nothing stopping me from walking into a store and buying a PS4 but I just don't need/want one.

On topic of Crackdown 3, downloaded it from game pass this morning but haven't tried it yet. I just hope it's the kind of mindless, fun game that will heal my post-RDR2-depression.
