Holiday effect still working for Switch. Need to remind that Smash Bros was still only a month old so its effect must have been noted still. It did a little bit better than I expected though. Very good result.

Ps4 did almost flat numbers week per week which was a little bit better than expected too. Impressive numbers too.

But despite that, January numbers are not the best indicator to anticipate what both consoles are going to do from Feb until summer.

XBO...well I expected VGC to overtrack the numbers but I did not expeted by that much. Microsoft is going to announce next XB this year for certain. They have no other choice.

I'm expecting Switch to be up YoY riding the strong momentum of Smash/Pokémon :

Switch : 275K
PS4 : 190K
Xbone : 100K (Ouchie ouchie !)

Edit :

Oops, didn't know last year was 5 weeks long. Updated my prediction.

Very good prediction

No. In Jan 2018 there was nothing, in 2019 there is NSMBU and even if you don't want to accept this idea : this game will keep selling just constantly, it will keep selling at a regular pace in 2 years still while everybody will have forgotten RDR2...EVERY 5-6 years old children are just a bit too young to handle Mario Odysee but NSMBU is perfect for them.

KH3 came out near the end of Jan. I think ps4 and xbox will do fine in feb because of KH3. Switch will do ok too but it will be much closer between the 3 in feb

Wow

I was not that far off on my NS-PS4 prediction.  But I was certainly not expecting such a low performance from the X1.

Now Im curious to see for how long MS is gonna be keeping their stuborness and keep delaying the permanent price cut.

Switch did really well and the PS4 did good for the PS5 being around the corner. Xbox did terrible.

Good win for Switch, time for PS5 and Nextbox

Nice very strong Jan with less weeks! I think it is due to momentum from SSBU and a strong holiday! Looking to be a very good year from the Switch for sure! Feb also looking really good! PS4 wow not bad at all! KH3 and RE2 helped it hold for Jan while not dropping as hard as I originally though and since they released so late could potentially help Feb as well. XB1 I don't even know what to say outside of I hope MS does much better next gen.

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

PSN: StlUzumaki23

Only real surprise here is the XB1 drop.

Imagine how it will be in april

In my opinion the ps4/xb1 sales have not much to do with ps5/xb2 releasing next year. The 299 price tag is just way to high for this year. The console price stagnated for 2 years and not many people are still willing to pay that high price.

I think it's possible for the ps4 to outsell the other consoles next fiscal year if sony cuts the ps4 price to 199$/€ permanently. Every time ps4 price went down for a limited time people are lining up to get one, so there is still a huge market for the ps4...
