I agree with this, but I would expect a 450 U$S price tag. Maybe Sony also save money with Zen instead of Zen 2, but it would be stupid as Zen 2 is more power efficient. Why do you think XBOX wil be faster? do you think It will lauch later with a better process?.

Are this numbers calculated with a 330 mm2 APU in mind?

5 years later I think Sony won´t get that far. I would like 12 - 14 TF , but 10 - 12 a more conservative guess now. Also 32 GB is too generous, 16 or 24 at most will be doable. 0.8 TB/s now can be done with 30% more efficiency, would be like 560 GB/s and can happen. I expect a 256 bit bus with DDR 6. we´ll see.

At least by now I got 2 predictions right:

A CPU 2 times faster than PS4 will happen with Ryzen. (Ryzen wasn´t known in 2014)

And  the next gen came earlier with Switch. (2014 was Wii U time)

AMD Hired Jim Keller in 2012. That is when we knew something big was happening... And that design would be Ryzen.
In 2015 it was formally revealed that Ryzen existed... But anyone in the know who traveled the enthusiast circles, knew about Ryzen well before that.

  Basicly it's not only a matter of raw power and numbers, but "balance and efficiency", and I'm confident Sony and AMD will pull out an amazing piece of hardware.  

 That said, I believe Sony will push a bit more the hardware boundaries this time around, and they won't play the really "cheapest and safest" way like they did with PS4. 

  I think most of us will be amazed by the PS5 capabilities.  

  

Well, they didn't really play cheapest and safest way with PS4 - only thing that was cheap was Jaguar, 8GB GDDR5 came as a surprise to many, even Mark Rein from Epic was surprised after reaveal (or acted quite surprised in one of aftershow interviews)...slightly cut down 7870/7970m class GPU was also better than what many expected, they could've gone with something similar to XONe's GPU and still have slightly better performing console due to GDDR5 and/or higher clock.

I remember, many were surprised about the 8GB GDDR5; but if I think about it now, I really understand why it was 8GB and not 4GB of total system RAM; try to imagine to have only 1-2GB for Gaming and 2 or 3GB for the OS;  somehow I was expecting 8GB for PS4 and X1, and the same for the GPU.    The CPU, as you said, was the only one underwhelming component, in order to sell at $399 on Day One.

  About PS5, my prediction is always the same, at least 14TF GPU and 24GB of Total System Ram, and a very competitive CPU this time around :)

Consoles are cost sensitive devices, they have historically opted to spend more on GPU than the CPU... Having a larger amount of die space reserved for the CPU is counter-intuitive.
Jaguar fits in with that paradigm... Only the Playstation 3 was the real deviation and was a console that generally took CPU performance seriously. (But with it's own caveats.)

Ryzen from the get-go was built as a very tiny core, so it will be perfect for next-gen... Bulldozer on the other--hand was a monolithic core/module for it's process and not ideal... Not an impossible choice, but not ideal.

I guess I don´t expect much for Next Gen. I mean, despite how many teraflops, RAM or HD, It will probably be the smallest jump in graphics quality from gen to gen. But it will be a good balanced machine. I mean, the CPU will be much better, I think at least 3 times faster than PS4. That will introduce bigger, more populated worlds and better physics. Graphics will be better, but with the upgraded consoles out ( PS4 pro and XB X) resolution will increase from checkboarding 4K or close to 4k to native 4k. Nice, but not awesome. If lucky we´ll see a bit of ray tracing, but consoles or even PCs still don´t have the power to implement game changing ray tracing. I guess that will be PS6 if ever exist, or PS5 pro ultra :).
So with PS5 or XBOX 2 (whatever name) we´ll have the same that we have now, but well done, a complete package for gaming. Finally a good CPU, 4k graphics and 16 or 24 GB of RAM enough to bring good textures. With the 4K TVs on the rise, these systems will last for the next decade and be well done, good enough balanced machines.

Most people will start to feel is good enough. Like with on board audio. Old timers would remember buying a 300 USS Sound Blaster 32 , 64 or even Live to make the PC sound better. Now for 99% onboard audio is good enough. Many bougth many CDs from favourite Singers, after Smartphones , mp3, wma and so on, those audio files got good enough quality for 99%. I guess a time would come where graphics and phisics will be good enough for most of the people. I wonder if the next XBOX or PS5 will bring that feeling to the majority.

I don't think we're there yet - I think that paradigm shift needs to happen in 3D graphics for physics to trully resemble real-world in most aspects.
I'm not sure what are all the possible choices to get us there, but fully voxel based worlds is one of them.
Some 5 or 6 years ago, Tim Sweeny from Epic talked about it in an interview on Gamasutra - IIRC, his estimate was some 20-30 TFLOPS for such worlds - which is not where the next gen will be.

Those $400 MSRP consoles could cost anywhere between $400-$480 to make, meaning sony and MS will be taking a slight loss on each unit sold. 

And yes it would be stupid fr any of them to use zen as opposed to zen 2.

I think XB will be faster because that sort of thin is more important t and for MS. They can't compete with playstation being at the same price and power. They will lose that fight every single time. They can't be more expensive either. Being more expensive has never translated to better sales over playstation for them. Best they can d is match the price of the PS5 (which means they will be using pretty much identical hardware with sony) but send more n thins like better cooling which sony probably wouldnt do. Thats how they end up with that clock boost. And this way MS gets to scream most powerful console from day one. And then they have to come in cheaper too, hence the XB lite.

The sweetspot for MS isn't to say we have a $300 and $500 box But rather t say we have a $300 and $400 box.

OG PS4 die size was ~350mm2@28nm. PS4pro was ~320mm2@16nm. XB1X is ~360mm2@16nm. I think its safe to assume they can fall anywhere within 320mm2 to 360mm2. 

To put this into context, AMDs Vega Raedon 7 (7nm GPU) has a die size of 331mm2.
