Oh you're talking about that. Well with ps5 they offer the traditional home console for €399. Then a €99 streaming box that steams your ps5 games. And finally a Vita like device that steams the games for €199.

People did not want pay 200 for the VITA to stream PS4 games, why would they do it for PS5 games?

For people talking about setting the bar to high and that only they can achieve as some way to say it shouldn't be compared to... PS4 was compared to how well it could do compared to PS2 for most of the gen, and only PS4 had a real chance to come close. And after gen TOP3 on home consoles will be PS2, PS4 and PS1. With top 5 being PS2, PS4, PS1, Wii, PS3.

No one was saying that was not the case.  Not sure what this has to do with Japan sales.

 

Nintendo owns Japan

Sony Owns Europe

Nintendo and Sony trade off in the US, with MS not far behind

 

Nothing new, funny how you felt the need to drag sales outside of Japan into the discussion though.

Having a high bar for itself doesn't make the conversation not applicable.

Nintendo haven't dominated USA since SNES. PS1, PS2, X360 and PS4 (with X1 really close) have won USA.

I haven't dragged sales outside Japan as I didn't put any numbers. I just said that the fact that only Sony itself would be able to come close to their top rankers don't make we stop comparing PS4 to its top rankers ever since day 1. So not sure why that would be a problem to compare Switch to Nintendo top rank ranking in Japan.

Nah ps4 is a profit making machine on a global basis. They were right to do what they did. If they cared for Japan a Switch like device was the way to go. They cared just not enough. Maybe the ps5 will get a portable sku that streams games to it. 

I feel like he's trying to start a different conversation, and admire how you are handling this one.
