Hopefully Nintendo will learn from the mistakes of 2018 and in future years focus more on a steady cadence of new core games throughout the year as they did in 2017 to great effect. They got lazy and arrogant this year and thought they could cruise to 20 million by relying mostly on old ports and B/C tier games while going 13 long months without a proper system seller. They'd better not make that mistake again.

There were more new games this year than ports, so no.

Not gonna get into this again as I've decided to move on from this topic, but isolating half of a statement like that is incredibly disingenuous.

Honestly the list of games that we know that come in 19 or are expected to seems to be huge, it is going to be interesting to follow what the next Pokemon will do, how big will animal crossing be, will DQ 11 release in 19 and how wil it sell? What will the FF Ports do? Yoshi? Metroid prime maybe?  Bayonetta 3 will be okayish?  That no more heroes game will bomb? Will that Mario/Liugi U port have legs? Liugi mansion 3/Fire emblem will be sales monsters?   SMT will be big?  Yokai Watch can be dissapointing or be big again? and their will be ofcourse more , it will make the COMG/Japan sales interesting :).

Yeah but if your hole point is how 2018 was lackluster because of how we got mostly Wii U ports, isolating this statement should be enough to show how your perception isn't reality.

Incorrect. I never said that. You conveniently clipped the second half of the statement: "and B/C tier games"

I don't know what B/C tier means

EDIT: Oh I get it, "B and C tier games". Yeah but that's one more time your opinion, not a fact. I was way more excited for Mario Party than any game this year so in my perspective, it's a way bigger game than most of 2017 games. But that's not how it works.

Not to be rude, but I really don't care to discuss this with you. Like I said, I'm done with this subject. The thread's moved on.

Kirby was listed as spring and released in March so there is hope

That'd be great, I really hope it is a March/April release. Bring on that January Direct!

So far the 2019 games I'm getting are: Yoshi, Sonic Racing, Doom Eternal, Trine 4, and Luigi's Mansion 3. Plus I'm sure they'll be at least one more I'll get that hasn't been announced yet. That already puts it lightyears ahead of 2018.

Honest question: what are your favorite Nintendo franchises? I'm here hoping for a 2019 release for Metroid Prime 4 and Pikmin 4.

OT: I'm really curious to see the numbers for this week. I'm particularly curious to see how much Switch will do.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

My favourite Nintendo franchises are 3D Mario, 3D Zelda, Donkey Kong Country, F-Zero, Metroid Prime, Mario Kart, Splatoon, and Xenoblade.

I too really want to see a 2019 release for Prime 4, but I suspect it'll be a 2020 release as we have still seen absolutely nothing of it and it's listed as "TBA" rather than "2019" on Nintendo's upcoming releases chart on their latest financials.

Hasnt only Yoshi and FE that got delayed from nintendo for the past 2 years? Im hoping MP4 is the Dec game

Well, it wouldn't technically be a delay as they never said it was coming in 2019.
