The game has really turned around since its launch. I played it this weekend without knowing about the new social playlist searching function. I was pleasantly surprised! I'm happy they have continued support after all these years. It gives me hope for Halo infinite. Supposedly, they are working on adding Halo:Reach. If they can get Firefight in there as well, oh boy!

Btw, the Flood take over on the main menu is awesome!

They just said theyre evaluating adding Reach at the moment. But making the old games better certainly compensates for a lack of Halo this gen. I would like to see big updates for both MCC and Halo 5 because Im still playing them.

I really enjoyed Spartal Assault, I beat it on both 360 and X1 for achievments. I have it for Windows but I want it on Xbox.

Spartan Assault is on Xbox.
But it's successor Spartan Strike is not.

And that is a big shame in my eyes.

HALO MCC had the potential to be great but the poor launch of it (as well as Killer Instinct in parts) is basically what made me say you know what fuck Microsoft, I am skipping your console this gen.

6 years after is too little too late, the gen is over, PS4 has won. Xbox 360 had all the momentum to ensure Xbox one did great this gen but Microsoft fucked it all up..

It's pathetic they took 5 to 6 years to fix their broken game
it's too late now, a 5/10 game dosnen't become a 10/10 over time
most people have moved on from it by now

It was never a 5/10... the single player and couch coop was always 10/10. The broken multiplayer was bad and I would rank 6/10 or 7/10.

Beside a broken game is no longer always a broken game;this is modern gaming, Game can ship broken and get fix and improvement after release.

Right, people forget MCC was actually a critical success even when online multiplayer was a mess.

Because from the start it was arguably the best way to play all the campaigns. But even when the multiplayer was buggy, it was still enjoyable most of the time.

To be fair MCC is probably the most ambitious port compilation ever created and it really suffered from being rushed. If you wanted it for the campaigns, playing split screen, it was always notable for that. It just really dropped the ball on online play.

Uncharted Collection also ambitious, maybe one of the most notable, but only a fraction of content compared to MCC.

Killer Instinct was honest about what it was and priced accordingly. Also a unique game in the genre.

Its not too late for MCC, still a popular game with an active population.

I would agree. Bought it years ago but finally played it earlier this year. One campaign after the other. One of the most satisfying months ever.

I was lucky, I bought it entirely for the campaigns, The little of online play I did was bug free for me. Definitely one of the best gaming packages I have ever owned. Really enjoyed replaying Halo CE the most.

You know what MS should do, is release an MCC port for their next Xbox console, but this time do an Anniversary edition for Halo 3 and include it as well, alongside simple remasters of Halo Reach and Halo 5. All main Halo games in one package. That way all of this work they have done fixing MCC over the last year or so doesn't go to waste, because as it stands most people have moved on and won't even get it a chance sadly.

It is already part of Xbox gamepass, along with Halo 5, Halo wars, Halo Wars 2 & Halo ODST? Only Halo reach is missing. On top of that they are all enhanced on the Xbox one X, I bet the same technology will be used on the next gen consoles. A re-release would only look like a cash grab.

Thing is, having it be BC alone won't get people playing it again. Halo MCC would have been a regular on the top 10 most played list on XB1 this whole gen if it had been working right on release. Now it is finally working right, but barely anybody is playing it because it just took too long to fix it. Just having it be on backwards compatibility next gen won't be enough, it will get overlooked in favor of next-gen multiplayer games just like it is being overlooked right now, but even worse since even more time will have passed. However, if they use MCC as a baseline for a new collection next-gen, with every main Halo game available in one package including the Halo 3 Anniversary everybody wanted in 2017 and didn't get, I think it would sell very well.

Sure some people would call it a cash grab, people called Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a cash grab as well but it hasn't stopped it from selling over 11 million copies on Switch. The XB1 version of Halo MCC would still be playable on BC alongside Halo 5, but this would be a different option for those willing to double dip, with full native 4K on all games in the collection including the brand new Halo 3 Anniversary and Halo Reach and Halo 5 ports. Most of the work is already done if they use MCC as a baseline, basically all they'd have to do is design Halo 3 Anniversary, remaster Halo Reach in 4K, and tie H3A, Reach, and Halo 5 into the current UI and matchmaking system.

You have to remember that Halo MCC was done before the backward compatible announcement for Xbox One. Remaster were the norm back then all the best game in the first year on consoles were remaster of Xbox 360 and PS3. Even now the top selling game this generation is a PS3/360 remaster (GTA5). Games can scale with the system power now, has shown with the Xbox one X. Digital library will carry over to all next gen consoles.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a bad example the WiiU was a flop and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe biggest feature isn't with what they added to the game but the fact that you can now take that game on the go with you. Actually, the Switch would be a great system for some remaster like a digital remaster of Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 running with standard controls.

Instead of a remaster, I hope they focus all their money and energy on making Halo: Infinity amazing. Bring HALO back to a must owned triple AAA on Xbox. Take your time 343 and make that game a true master piece.
