Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will people rage at pokémon 2019?

I'm expecting it to look slightly better than Let's Go and imo that's not a bad thing. Let's go is a beautiful version of Kanto.

You must be new to the internet.

GameFreak is making Town. If Gen 8 looks similar to this I'll be just fine.

People have bitched and moaned about every gen since gen 3 and I don't see that stopping anytime soon.

Yeah, and they'll still buy it, just like FIFA or Madden or whatever other games fall into the same category.

Personally i had no problems with the artstyle in Let's Go, but i am sure that someone will be mad that it doesn't look super-realistic

I do have astronomicaly high expectations for pokemon 2019, I expect to be nothing short of blown away, but if that's not the case I won't be angry, just dissapointed (at myself for believing GameFreak had any ambition)

I will be pretty annoyed if it basically a reuse of the Let's Go engine or only a small leap above it, yes. With the kind of money Pokemon games make Gamefreak/Nintendo could easily afford a bigger budget so they can get more ambitious with the graphics.

And they need to continue the trend towards full 3D with realistically proportioned character models that they were moving toward with Sun/Moon, not go back to isometric top down with chibi character models.

Let's go used the same engine as the 3ds games, so I'm sure they are using a new one for the gen 8 games

How big is Gamefreak? They just finished Let's Go, they're making Town, and making the next Pokemon, and all of those are asking for more development than their usual 3DS titles...

They have never been a great technical studio, so I don't expect a big leap, or it might have some technical issues... Do we know already if Town is open world, a big map, or on a smaller scale?

The entire story of town takes place in that my town, so yeah. I would assume they are outsourcing a bit
