It's fiction. It's pen and paper. So one would start there's nothing wrong. Just like you enjoy slaughtering people in God of war but won't consider maiming people with blades and axes in real life ok. I don't enjoy it you don't but if someone does, there's nothing really wrong there unless you consider murder not ok in the arts. You need to learn the difference between fact and fiction. The japanesJ are very conservative in real life and they would never tolerate this in real lofe

In other words "Don't be Master Roshi."?

Never be master roshi hahahaha

Here's a novel idea. Stop consuming content that doesn't interest, or even offends, you. Clearly it's not something you should be wasting your time on.

If more people had this  philosophy the world would be a better place.

Holy shit, well said. Why do people gotta try and stop others from doing things that they may enjoy?

Live and let live.

Nothing wrong with being sexually attracted to young beautiful girls as long as you know to look and not touch. Of course if they are younger than 12 then something may be off with you.

You don't have to like it, but there's nothing wrong there. It's all fictional.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

My Little CaptainExplosion can't be this close-minded to not figure that what he sees as crazy is normal elsewhere and that he is not the target audience for such content and that he should stop watching what pisses him off out on his own?

Hey. I came up with a LN title.

That is a big turn off for me when it comes to anime and japanese games for some reason

Yeah, answer the question.  If you see a female who is really, really hot then later you find out she's 14 years old, what do you do?  Go back in time and yell at yourself for being attracted?

What if you learn that it's only an artist's drawing and not an actual person at all?  What if the artist said, "she's 14," and you got angry, then he laughed and said, "no, she's 18, because it's not a real person and the age is something I made up"?

What if you see a drawing of what appears to be a young girl with no breasts in a sexy outfit?  What if the artist said, "no, she's actually 35"?  Because you honor the made up age of the 14/18 year old as "real" does that mean you honor this made up age, as well?

Mao and I had a chuckle at this. In a medium where a character's age doesn't often reflect their design, it seems like a silly thing to be all hot and bothered over. Reminds me of that old trap argument.

Anyways, if you don't like it, go invest your time into another medium.

No, the age of consent in Japan is 18 (local law matters, not the national "base" law). Let's stop with the uneducated rumors if you want a real debate.

Male dominated society, yes, and it's way too much. Feminists should try to come here if they want to do meaningful stuff.

But anime is not considered really "normal" by most Japanese people, they know it's crazy, they just kinda accept it.

Found this: https://www.quora.com/Why-is-the-age-of-consent-so-low-in-Japan

Looks a lot like a legal construct that can be bent however someone sees fit, provided they have the money.

Also, it sheds some light on another thread we had recently: Japan losing interest in relationships. If things really work like described in that link, then it wouldn't surprise me if teenagers first have no interest in a relationship with another teenager due to potential legal consequences, and later on no interest either, because they've already learned to live without a relationship and not gained any experience in forging a relationship.

FMD, Newton's laws of physics are easier to understand.

Talk about vague for the poor teenagers. Wtf is an unethical relationship between two teenagers who want to date lol?
