It was clearly not gonna be a crap game, but one would expect critics to treat laziness a little more harshly. This is basically a 3DS Pokémon game rendered in HD and being sold at full price... never mind the lack of content and it being a gen 1 remake. It's just a fucking lazy game, and there shouldn't be an excuse for it, but once again the critics (and even the general audience) show that if it's on the Switch, it doesn't matter.

After all, this is the same audience that's paying $20 yearly to play P2P online and defending it.

I feel like all of us have gone numb to the repetitiveness and laziness of big game companies nowadays. If you look at most of the new releases today there is no innovation just slap better graphics on it, change a couple of things and sell it for full price. The only games that I have played in the last decade that sorta blew me away with innovation was Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and M&B Warband, everything else just feels like an upgraded version of something I have already played before.

I'm not surprised but I hoped for this to be a bit lower. Reviewers should really start to give big games harsher scores, their range of scores is way to small. Now it's only 5 points below X&Y, which is just absurd.

Hopefully it still drops to 70 or something.

Thats not a good comparison. The people who reviewed XY is not the same people reviewed this.

And who knows! Maybe they actually like this game! And that must be shocking for you

Pocky Lover Boy!

Day one, and for all the haters in disguise... you know the game could be 99 meta and you will not buy it anyway.

34 years playing games.

As expected, reviewers are not judging the game based on what they wish it was but on what it is trying to do.

Shouldn't they judge it based on what was given to them? They probably liked what was given to them.

It's interesting that some people here criticized reviews and scores like they played this game and they know that this game deserves lower scores.

Most negative on internet this game received because it's more casual Pokemon game instated of more core Pokemon game that people wanted but, that doesnt mean its bad game that deserves bad scores.

If you're calling this lazy then you might as well be calling a lot of Nintendo games lazy lol.  Majority of their games looks like some sort of port or HD remastered from the previous. (ie. NSMB Wii vs. NSMBU) and Nintendo has always been selling them at full price.  It's Nintendo, they think they're like the Apple of the video game world.

OT: I expected the score to be around there.  I'm pretty excited to grab a copy and play this.

Is this game truly lacking content? How would people know if its not out? If true, it shows that Nintendo games get graded on 'easier' standards.

Games like Sea of Thieves and No Mans Sky, more technically impressive games, got destroyed for the lack of content during launch.

Glad I'm not hardcore Pokemon fan, the community is way too much at times.

agreed I generally play all the pokemon games and enjoyed them but I usually avoid the communities at all cost one of the most annoying fan communities I ever seen

I have no idea to be honest with you. All I know for sure is that I'll definitely get the game. Looking forward to it!

That's pretty much what I was saying.  They know and accept it's not the next big hardcore Pokemon RPG, but something aimed at bringing a wider audience into Pokemon, and they are judging it with that in mind and find it to still be worthwhile.
