I think that most people that didnt played first 3 games when they are out, are choosing some other series,
so most people don't realise that TR1/TR2/TR3 were one of best games of its generations, and we talking about generation with plenty of greats games.

You mean TR1, TR2 and TR3?

Yeah, my bad. :)

For me, Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3. I've played a lot of these back in the day.

2013 TR is a good game, but it has shifted a lot from the original concept. I miss being lost on a level, exploring everything in order to advance, Recent TR games are much easier, at least on this regard, but I'm not saying that's a bad thing (I really like the Uncharted franchise, and the new TR games are quite similar to them), it is just not really TR anymore.

The Reboots for sure. It not only adds a great story plot to the games, it also suits the game genre. I never could get into the old TR games. I am happy to play the reboots.

Or, they just prefer something else. :)

I think he's right - I'd say that people who played Legend trilogy and only then got their hands on Core's TRs find them clunky in controls - which they are. But that moment you're stepping backwards, counting steps to the edge, preparing for jump knowing that one tiny misstep will kill you...only in Core TRs.

While I find them quite good, CD's Legend trilogy was much easier than previous games - and I can relate to people that were complaining about that when Legend released. But at the time, Core was sucked out of blood by Eidos and their yearly TR schedule (this is considered to be precursor to modern Ubi/EA/Activision eayrly sequilities), so anything after AoD felt more then welcome.

From what I read most people here didnt play them at all or played them much later after they were released.

First series. I just bought the first two games and I liked them a lot, but when the 3rd game too was released just one year after the previous, I suddenly felt they were overmilking the series and I lost attraction for it.
