Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why are a handful of VR users so adamant?

This thread is actually all about what it is trying to be against. People somehow managing to put themselves above others, in whatever way. Be it "I like VR, I can think ahead so me > you", "I don't like VR because reasons so me > you", "people who can't afford it are obviously against it so me/my money > you/rs", "I only buy games when they are on sale so VR is not for me, I don't waste money so me > you", "you can't stand 'discussions'? You are weak, me > you", "I tried VR first so me > mankind", "I got the cheaper VR made by Samsung for 10 bucks less than Sony's with same specs, me > you"

Pure comedy. Even if I said, yes VR is more than just gaming (and gaming-wise I'd like to keep it simple, just like I play simple board games but not some tabletop RPG that takes weeks to finish) but also changing lots of other stuff, I still won't be a fan of e.g. seeing places I'd like to go to because I'd like to experience it fully live and be proud of being there instead of watching it like being in a globe theater, people would find a weird argument why their opinion is better when I never said everybody else shouldn't be into VR because I am not.

People invalidating other's opinions of their own personal experience of VR is due to insecurities.

Lots of people nay say a ton of things in the world, heck even being a freaking genuine person has been talked down to by others, because things get to "real" for them (i.e you see past their BS and see where they have been hurt in life and why they act out the way the do, and they really don't like feeling vulnerable when you see the more authentic self they hide under the surface, so they take it out on you.)

A lot of stuff you can just let roll off your shoulders as you stand in your knowing of what it true to you, if you don't like some kinds of gaming that is valid.

Some people never like any video games, everyone is different.

You've been long enough on this forum, you should've learned the concept of a "fanboy" by now. This thread is inexcusable.

Seconded.

I got accused of lying about having PSVR and selling it, but most of the VR 'pushers' around here ive spoke with and they now know im not making it up, and all this VR talk is really making me regret selling it now. I should off just let it collect dust for awhile. Dammit.

Honestly i think VR is just a fad, until it doesn't lower it's price point and perhaps improves technology it won't get big anytime soon.

because VR is so good. Watch videos about it. All people that have tried a good VR game are the same.

BTW the virtual boy is not vr. Its a 3D visior. Way more similar to the 3DS then to VR.

Because psychology.

When you spend boat loads of money on something, it serves a psychological purpose for that thing to succeed in your mind because it says "I'm a smart person and make smart decisions."

Generally speaking, they are a bunch of extreme crybabies that lack the comprehension skills to see beyond their limit field of view. This goes for any extreme fringe for any group.
