Have you ever considered that maybe some people don't want everything to be in first person and that they actually enjoy third person games?

Hnm I actually never heard any person say "Oh man real life sucks so bad because its always in first person, would be so cool if it would be in 3rd person" honestly. VR is just like real life. So I havnt considered it, yes

Why would we want real life from video games?

It was always the goal of video games to simulate real life as much as possible. It was a pretty natural process.

It all started with those basic 2D Pong games which actually where far from reality and scince then, the main goal was always to make them more and more realistic/like real life.

We actually had some milestone. 8bit -> 16 bit -> first polygon graphics (Mario 64/Zelda OOT) -> Improvements to those graphics over the final 20 years. VR now is the finish/goal. There wont come anything after VR, it will just be better VR (higher resolution, better graphics) but in terms of technology, we are at the final step

But I like looking at Nathan Drake's ass as I play Uncharted, racing in 3rd person in Mario Kart allows for better vision of my surroundings. The third person view point is beneficial for games. Like I said before, VR is superior for some games but it's pointless for others which is why I don't believe we'll be heading for a VR only environment anytime soon.

Just go buy an Xbox or a Switch.  Better yet, a Nintendo 2DS.

1. I do own a switch, the vr is a much better pick.

2. Why should I buy a Xbox One, its the exact same gaming expierence as the ps4.

3. Why should I buy a 2DS with even much lower resolution then the VR ?

Xbox = Gears, Cuphead, Quantum Break, etc.

Nintendo = Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Shin Megami Tensei, Ace Wright, Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Etrian Odyssey, Professor Layton, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart, etc.

And these are just the franchises that I'm interested in.

Besides if resolution is your primary factor in purchasing a system, you just invalidated you frame of reasoning.

Maybe people not interested in VR should just stay out of those threads, instead of constantly assuring everybody and themselves that they will never like it.

touche

Not really.  Insecurity breeds contemptment.  And this proves it.

Nor me, tried it, sold it. Apparently I'm lying.

No, we already know you had bought it when close to no games were available yet. It’s a bit ironic, considering your nickname.

Seriously considering buying another one now, except they are still 400 euros which is what i payed and i sold it for 200. Wish i just kept it now, with all the talk round here i want to play Rush of Blood again

So why arnt car manufactures mounting cameras behind the cars and use a screen as the windscreen to display the camera feet so people could drive in third person?

Have you played Mario Kart VR already to compare it to third person mario kart?

What’s your point?! Third person games also work well in VR. It’s a misconception to think VR would only work for first person games.

Not really.  One of the purposes of third person games is get a wider view of the action.  That's why I normally prefer a third person games over a first person perspective.  So it defeats the purpose of a third person game in first person view in VR.  But you can view a third person game in "theater mode" in VR, but you might as well play it on a quality HDTV without the VR constraints.

What does real life have to do with Mario Kart?
